lord of the flies is on television right now. i am multitasking, i am kinda half-listening to the tv whilst eating chow mein & typing this. anyways is that how little children would act if there was no government or adults telling them what to do? what little shits! they kill the fat kid! anyone seen this?
i've never seen it and i had to read the book in school, but i never finished it...i ended up finding out in class that they killed the fat kid...and (like i do alot) made an ass out of myself) "he dies?"
Its excuse me - a very interesting concept which why is so fuckin famous - If nobody set you any laws - what would you do?
kill? yes probably. But not on a mass killing scheme - arguments happen,or could you talk each other out of it?
well i know i wouldn't kill the fat kid i mean honestly that book/movie is just a huge bunch of propaganda bullshit eh whatever, i had to read in like 10th grade, so did my little brother at least thats how it is here in ontario.. personally i'd prolly just be like one of the kids in the back ground (the extras in the movie)
your'e not that shalllow - the concept - like starting society from scratch with kids from all different upbringings - where do they all end up? - in competition
i understand the premise of the book...but also the context in which the book was written, it's written in total propaganda against communism...
don't talk to me about labels - human nature works very much like - nature - but with a tint f sympathy/ethics which we constantly try to understand
i just think the fact that it was written during the cold war has alot to do with the message within it eh i'm not gonna argue, i disliked the book, but it doesn't matter that's just my opinion on it...
I'm not on about the book - although I am talking about the very concept the book focuses on - its the basis of humanity.look - we are all from different countries - not only that but we are from different societies within those countries. The range of values and practises that are formed in fairly isolated societies in history form the values of those very societies today - which merge and evolve all the time.I wouldn't condemn any tradition in a community that I wasn't part of - cos ultimately they are surviving on their own principles - but if I live in a country that has lost its identity where - not only do we accept other cultures/religions and marry then nothing is as they say - pedigree. To try and form one culture out of lots of different gods is..... going to be chaotic.but possible in the long term
