you could have sex lol...or just playing..cause nipple stimulation is supposed to help bring it on.
haha...i think they had me drink some kind of laxative the night before too.

having sex really jumpstarted labor for me. Human semen works better and is safer than the pig semen that is in induction meds... ;)

yeah... might have to seduce my husband, which usually involves saying "lets have sex". haha. Oh.. and don't worry, my husband and my doctor know that oxytocine/petocine are not coming anywhere near me unless I or the baby is in SERIOUS trouble. I would rather be in labour limbo than use those drugs.

I think I've totally stalled out on the labour front... still have the cramping, still have the back pain, still leaking all sorts of mucus, but its not progressing at all. If nothing happens tonight, I will go to the hospital tomorrow just to get them to check me out. Have sent my husband over to my parent's house to borrow an air matress, as I don't want to sit on the living room furniture just incase... haha.

HAVE SEX!!!! When you have sex, you release oytocin, which is also a labor hormone. You also release it while breastfeeding. Do alot of passionate kissing too. Both kids my water was broken so no sex, but I know its supposed to be the best! Have lots of orgasms! YAY FOR BABIES AND SEX!!!!

Actually, have him get those big blue pads used for house-training pets. Those are used during labours.

and don't go into the hospital until you *know* it's time or if your water breaks!

lol, I'm anxious to hear any new news!
Do lotsa walking and drink lotsa water!
The day I went into labour, everything would slow down a bit when I would sit on my butt, but when I would start to walk, the contractions would hit like a ton of bricks.

well... i still got nothing. Think he has changed his mind about coming out tonight. Totally thought he was going to join the outside world today, but I guess not. My husband thinks he is going to make his move early tomorrow morning... but I have given up hope. We'll see how I feel tomorrow!

Will still drop in before we head to the hospital!

Totally! As an expert in long labours...:p....I tried everything, but you know what worked best?

Walking for as long as I could without exhausting myself, orgasm, drinking lots of water, and just not thinking about it...

Don't take any warm baths, soak for a long time in warm water, as it will stall contractions if you're not in really good active labour....:)

Enjoy your last days though. Take naps, eat with both hands free (haha!), enjoy going pee uninhibited, just enjoy being only two while you still can...

*belly rubs on that super cute belly! and baby vibes at you!*

all of that might have been because doc stripped your membranes. It might just not be time yet. ((((hugs)))) But the day Meriel was born, I was convinced it would be another three or four days of off and on prodomal labor... ;) When she finally decided to come out, it was like a freighttrain, really fast, and nothing could stop her! Can you tell how baby is positioned? Do you still feel kicks to the outside of your belly, or is her back there instead? do it doggie with your man, that will get baby turned the right way if that's the hold-up :) Don't sit reclined, don't lay on your back, lean forward instead. Do you have a big ball you can sit on? Is there any chance you can go swimming?

Alright, we went to the doctor this morning... she squeezed me in. She did an internal, and determined that I am a little more effaced and dialated, but thats all. Also, he isn't fully engaged.

So... looks like we've got some time to kill.. haha.

well, at least you've made some progress!
Try to get as many things done now that you can. Don't over work yourself or anything, but really enjoy these last few "normal" hours. If your up to it, I'd say go out for a bite to eat with hubby and watch a movie.
I remember I put off all my cleaning and packing because I was in such denial that Leane was just never going to come out...then the day labour started, I was filling bucket after bucket with cleaners, scrubbing everything and packing like a mad woman!

I always assumed it was pronounced Le-anna-h. Because that rhymes with bobanna. :D

I'm getting so excited! I wish he'd hurry up and be here so you can post cute little pictures and cute little mommy stories. :D

we've got our bags packed and they are sitting by the door. We are only 2.5 minutes from the hospital... haha. I've made a weeks worth of suppers, and they are frozen in the freezer ready to go. Diapers and nipple pads are sewn and ready, soaker pads are ready too. Babies room is totally ready....

basically, everything is ready except for him! hahaha! Oh well.. he will come when he wants to come... and I am going to quit thinking about it.

I have been spending a lot of time reading and sleeping. Usually I would be relaxing with some knitting, but due to all the water I am retaining, there is a good deal of pressure on a nerve bunch, so I haven't had feeling in 3 fingers on my left hand for a couple weeks now. I think that is the thing I am hating most.. the constant numbness in my fingers.

Will still keep you all updated on any progress.

P.S. I've always thought it was pronounced "Lee-ann"

    lol, moon wins this one!
    Leane is pronounced "lee-ann-ah"
most people think that it's lee-anne," which is obvious, since it's spelled that way, but it's actually a danish pronunciation to take after her great great grandmother!
More baby vibes!!!!! Hopefully things get moving for you! Glad to hear that you're realxing, though! I can't wait to see the little guy!
