I'm looking for a beach town full of hippies, anywhere in the world...where is it? California is becoming too...expensive, trendy, overrun...any ideas?
I've heard some talk about that at the westcoast of Peloponnes, you know in the south-west of Greece, there are some beaches. But I've also heard, from a greek girl who used to frequence this site, that it's not like it used to be out there... Anyhow, the Sinai Peninsula, was not excactly on the old hippie trail route, but it seems like that many hippies settled down in this area anyway. Most famous is Dahab, in which I enjoyed a few careless weeks back in 1996, but it's also on its way becoming more touristed and commercial. But there are several other beduin camps up along the Sinai east coast, which are wonderland, according to what I heard. Some of the best diving places on Earth, people says... love, -wolf-
Venice Beach comes to mind, is this where you are refering to? Also Ocean Beach near San Diego comes to mind also. Malibu is more of a surf hippie haven. Wondering cuz I haven't been south in years. love yourself, Honor
Try Cornwall in the UK! There's loads of surfing towns like Newquay, Bude, Polzeath etc Hope this helps! ... just realised these have already been mentioned! Sorry! But it just shows how great they are! :d
