I had an interview yesterday for the Food Co-op in Ann Arbor...and they called me today and hired me So not only will I be working there, but I will also be going to school full-time, doing a 100 hour internship, PLUS working at the dance studio two days a week... LOL...and I have to sleep and fit in homework time. We'll see how this works out. I can FINALLY start saving up to move out! I graduate from college in December and want to move out as soon as possible afterward because homelife is less than steller...and has been for a long while. *does a little dance* I'm happy today.
I've never worked in a grocery store before...but I have worked in retail and I really liked it. The co-op is really cool and the people there are super nice...so I'm excited.
i loved working in the natural grocery store years ago.. especially when i got free samples .. and free food
I'll be a cashier, but hopefully they'll move me up to team leader after a few months...they have already mentioned it, but they need me to get experienced in their system first... And I do plan on walking/riding my bike...It only takes about four or five minutes by bicycle. I timed it. We'll most likely be moving in together after I graduate, so it's pretty perfect, actually.
I am excited...although I'm going back to teach at the dance studio...even after all the crap I went through last year. My internship is at the Ecology Center over on Division...also, only a few blocks from my bf's house
Congratulations! Getting a job and having enough money to live your life is such a good feeling. I hope you enjoy it. By the way sorry, I'm mentally retarted (Australian), what is a food co-op exactly?
A co-op has foods that are mostly local. The members that pay a yearly fee basically "own" the store. They also carry a lot of organic and natural foods (packaged, etc.) at a reasonable price. It's very community-oriented. http://www.peoplesfood.coop/whatscoop.html
what's your major annie? are you getting your BA right now? congratulations on all the stuff going on! good luck in everything!
My major is environmental studies with a concentration in political science. It's a BA (if I was environmental SCIENCE, then it'd be a BS). I'm just glad to be getting my LIFE started...this schooling stuff is seriously holding me back from what I feel like I should be doing. Of course, what I should be doing is probably not casheiring, it is at least getting me closer to being independent.
