I've decided to write a thread dedicated to this ingenius psychedelic minstrel, For those of you unfortunate ones, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoOBLgECj8c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPadlPxlWuY
devendras the man... I think...it was Sniffmajikmarkers who got me into him. speaking of the girl, where the hell'd she go? i liked her.
Yes, wonderful. I love Devendra. Check these out.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cig2Ep-4udg&mode=related&search= AND my favorite http://www.alfy.com/cool_stuff/music_videos/watch_free_music_videos.aspx?VideoID=980 Enjoy. :]
Hah, I could spend all day trying to make it look better in photoshop, but ultimately when I upload it to photobucket, it looks like shit. Just how it works, I guess. Not entirely sure why, though.
very good. are there other bands/people out there that i don't know about that make music like this? i'd love to hear of them
Dunno, but Devendra has played with Six Organs of Admittance and Joanna Newsome if you're interested. I don't care much for Joanna's stuff, though. Vashti Bunyan is cool. If you don't already know Donovan or Cat Stevens, listen to some of their stuff.
I'm going to see him in.. 13 days. or 14. Maybe 15. At a big festival..in a field..in the middle of nowhere in Ireland for 3 days. But he's only playing on..one day. 2 days of Devendra would be crazy. I mean 3. Massive Attack are playing too,and Mogwai and Tilly and the Wall. It'll be fun. I gotta find a way to get there though..because it's very far away. Haha. Cool. Tents!
Vetiver, CoCo Roise and the Espers (the Espers are especially good) are all artists in the same sphere of music that Devendra and Vashti Bunyan sort of lead, they're typically called "psychedelic-folk" musicians though they dont normally like being classified as such.
