i dont know about you guys but im kind of offended...that is not the way to honor the people who died in that attack. the proper way to honor them is to find out the true story of 9/11 and punish the perpetrators who let it happen...it sickens me knowing millions of familes are at that movie now just balling their eyes out at the tragedy portrayed in the move (and nicolas cage's bad acting) thats america for you, makin gmoney off a tragedy...
So movies about tragedies shouldn't be made? What about Escape From LA? Alright, I'll give you that one.
Mac did you see the movie?? Do you know anything about how the movie was made? I put up a fairly lengthy review of the movie that I saw on Saturday. That is ofcourse if you can ignore the jackasses trying to hijack it for a debate.
Yeh really..it's not like 3,000 people died or anything. What's the big deal huh stupid? Bet if it was your dad, mother, brother or sister it would be a big deal.
so you guys think its ok to make a multi million dollar movie about tragedy that has gone virtualy unsolved for 5 years? people already forogt and nobody cares...the money for that movie should have been spent in a movie displaying th truth. you knw everyone involved is cashing in like crazy on it because everyone wants to see it....i think its sick and totally disgraceful to everyone who died
And roughly 10 times as many people died from prostate cancer that same year. But you aren't spending anywhere close to the equivalent of the war on Afghanistan and Iraq fighting prostate cancer. And of course, I can name instances in (recent) history where the US has either trained/equipped/supported financially mass deaths that make 911 look like child's play. However, people are more outraged by a movie because its "too soon" than by their own state's horrible record. Excuse my skepticism and lack of condolences.
Again...why don't you guys actually see the movie before talking shit about it because until you do see it, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Period.
And your tax dollars have been supporting terrorism for decades, old man. But you make up for it with your wit.
The killing of 3000 innocent lives is not supposed to be taken seriously? I dont really see the logic in that statement. For a guy who is getting a bachelors degree you really are a dumbass.
I said you take it too seriously. People, in numbers much larger than this (and often directly because of the American government), die all the time - and nobody gets anywhere close to as worked up about movies that insult their honour/memory. I'd also debate their innocence. In a democratic society, everybody of voting age is assumed to take on collective responsability for the actions of an elected government. For a kid who apparently has down syndrome, you type really well though. Congratulations.
That is called tongue-in-cheek. Although I really don't have all that much faith in your intelligence. Or your raison d'etre. Judging by the last few posts I've read of yours, I'm going to have to assume its to find posts by me, and deliver crudely-insulting and badly-grammaticized insults without any flair for logic, or original thought. However, the outright sophistry of "I don't have down syndrome" was well played. Please put me on your ignore list. Or better yet, go slit your wrists (and that is very much not tongue-in-cheek).
And yet again you are surprisingly stupid for a guy going for a bachelors degree. You say I should slit my wrists but its more of a last ditch effort to get back at me with a somewhat evil response. You don't phase me though and I see you for what you are and that is a typical idiot. I liked the french though.
Bin Ladens primary greivance was US bases on muslim land. Canada has bases in Afghanistan. Verily murdering 3,000 Canadians is just.
man, youre all lame. i was starting a healthy discussion on smething i feel strongly about and you guys turned into a bitch war... my point was...i realiz that 3000 people isnt much compared to everything else in the world, but it is still something, something that started a war and caused more death and destruction...the people who died deserve better than some shitty movie about "hope" and "struggle" that movie is the epitome of our culture, cashing in on tragedy...
The attack wasn't just because of military bases. The attack was just as a muslim response to America's direct and indirect attacks on Muslims. Canada has taken on culpability, however. I hope it will be fleeting.
