To hot?

    just wondering if a 500 watt quartz halogen bulb would be to hot for a 3'x3' grow box..and if so how could i build a venting system to fix this.. smell is not a problem

    The light is cheap and the color looks like it would flower but this light puts out more heat than usable light. You will be fighting a lost cause. It is inefficient as hell.

    My advice is to not use that as it will bake your plants just with its light.

    Start vegging under any cheap floros for now and then find the 150 watt hps security lights available at Home Depot if that's all you can afford. Several of them would flower a nice space. Figure 50 watts of hps light per square foot of space. 9 sq ft. in a 3 x 3 so 9 x 50 = 450. Three 150's. :) BOG
