So I was waiting for the train to come to go down into the city to see my most favorite writer, Irvine Welsh, and this brother came up to me. He approached me and said, "sister, I see Rainbow in your eyes." I was like, ummmm, sure ok. Then he told me that he went to a few gatherings back in the late 70s.It was quite interesting talking to this bother besides the fact that he was drunk off of his ass! I was so surprised running into this guy in my uber-conservative suburban town. So what was the strangest place you've ran into family? Peace + Love
I totaly know what you mean. i was hitch hiking after the gathering in colorado this summer and i was stuck outside of chicko california for two days. when me and my road dog got picked up by this guy and his dog (real dog) he didn't know where he was going or why so he took us. ended up helping me a lot when my dog diched me. it was awsome. i still talk to him once in a while. but then after that i was on a grayhound in Nevada and me and two other people were kicked off the bus in Reno. so we slept in the park and talked they were both going to the east coast, just like me, different states they had started at the gathering in colorado and hitched to california, seperatly and were now going to the east. crazy world huh? lovin the family always. Cales
Drivin' the frozen meat truck. Turned out I had shared a bowl of beans with the guy at dinner circle several years earlier in Missouri. But seein' how anybody with a bellybutton qualifies, I have run into some serious Rainbow brothers and sisters - drunk AND redneck - they had no idea what a rainbow even was, but the love and kindness was definately there...
My husband &I were visiting my ultra-conservative mother, sister & her family in Florida years back. Very intense people who non-stop grilled me about my beliefs in a way to try to tell me what was wrong .. not to embrace me. Well, my sister suggests we go camping and we say sure, anything to get away from mom & away from the intensity. We followed them in our truck, not knowing where to. I had literally just finished telling my husband that I would do just about anything to see a rainbow sister & brother about now when we turned a corner and saw some sisters and very much rainbow looking folk. We kept driving when we passed more, then saw some brothers hitchhiking. My sister & her husband passed them by but we stopped & they hopped in the back of the truck. By now I was beside myself with joy & thankfulness, nearly in tears of appreciation and said, "Looks like a rainbow!" they said "It is!" turns out we were heading to the Ocala forest where a state regional gathering was taking place!! We camped in my sister's usual camp area, now surrounded by the gathering, and had such a fabulous and blessed weekend. Lovin' the rainbow!
while walkin down tha hiway in flordia, as two hyways merged, our brother and his dog came walkin up.. that is not strange though. under a bridge in my hometown, that is not strange though..
