One day, walking around in Paris (France), I faced a wall full of writings. It was not like those other walls where "racailles" put insults or "graffitis". It was like a decorative wall, full of words written in different languages, in different colors.

Then I came up with this thought : in every city a wall should be erected. Not to divide, hide or insulate, neither to decorate. But to free expression. A wall where anybody and everybody would be free to express themselves, with no restriction, no forbidding. A wall of free speech.

"If you had the chance, what would you tell the world ?"

So I decided to create a homepage to give people the chance to tell the world what they think, what they want. This page would be like a huge wall for unlimited free speech where you can engrave your thought, your happiness, your anger, in your language, about anything, anonymously, not manufactured or controlled.

Once it was ready to use, I myself started to write the things I felt important to tell, in my perspective. And I notice how I felt better, like after a confession or a psychotherapist session !

The day I launched the site, I wrote "Hello World" in english, arabic, japanese and greek to demonstrate that this page is multilingual. I then added "b e a u t i f u l", because it simply express what life is.

Now, in your opinion, do you think this page will be used ? And how will it be used ? What kind of words/expressions to expect ?
And have you met similar wall in other cities than the one I faced in Paris ?

wow i love this idea. its probably better done on the internet because the host could have more control (i.e. stopping abuse), also it just wouldnt happen in real life unless a rich artsy fartsy person could get it going.
perhaps you could design your site to make it look like an actual wall with peoples thoughts 'graffitied' onto it in graffiti style writing??

i tried going to your site but it said the server was busy

Thanks for your post, I appreciate ! I hope other people will like the idea, like you. I'm also hooping that I will not have to control the inputs, event if some people abuse or insert shocking stuff. I believe everything is balanced in life, bad and good co-exist. So why not also in that page ? It will be like an open mirror of people's thought (and our society maybe ?).

As for "graffitying", it's a good idea, but I have no idea how I can do that ! I will think about it and look on the net for similar project. But for now I will keep it simple...

By the way if by chance you have international friends, please don't hesitate to ask them to add a thought in their language. I really want that site to be international, and not only for english speakers !

    Thanks again !

PS : If you or your friends have problem with the site (server errors, slow, etc) please let me know !

I have added a funny description below the Title of The Homepage of Free Speech: "an other kind of toilet stall"

I have updated the description of the site, comparing this page with a bathroom stall, a classroom table, a tree, a big rock, a public phone.

Do you have other comparisons ?

I have also precised that I will try not to control the input, and described the words I added intentionally.

I found an other comparaison to that concept : it's like a huge decorative urban wall, where passer-by, visitors, tourists can leave a message.
