If I didn't believe in fully intelligent babies before Moire was born, I am now!

She is not content to be a baby. She's just so....adult...

She's not content to be held or to sit, she wants to stand. She's not content to just babble. She gets frustrated that she can't make works. She wants to use the potty, so we're going to try Elimination Communication.

And...She's holding her own bottle most of the time. I still don't like to let her for late night feedings and bedtime. She can sit up on her own for a full five minutes sometimes before she starts to topple over.

And the kicker: She has a tooth. It's poked through.

I want a BABY! She's too adult for me!

Oh wow, she just can't wait to grow up!
    That's amazing!
Question: what is elimination communication? well, I know what that means, but how does it work?

wow too weird... riley is the same way. she actually said "I go" the other day. I was freaked out, I didn't know what to think. Her dad was an early speaker too and her aunt who is now three had her first words at 4 months also so its possible. Shes almost crawling and walks holding fingers. I had the same thought the other day, wheres my baby? :( lol We need to start a support group.

Yeah, we do....I'm almost shocked at how developed she is....I mean, goodness! Right now, she's playing peek-a-boo with herself, pulling a cloth diaper over her eyes, shoving it down again, and cooing loudly then shrieking in laughter.

And Kirsten, EC is basically noticing what noises and movements she makes when she's about to pee or poo, and then taking her to the potty. Pretty simple.

Haha, she just did the cutest thing! When she sneezed, she brought the cloth diaper up to her nose. And looked so proud....I love being home to see this stuff!

ohhhh, ok. We haven't even thought about potty training yet, I just leave the bathroom door open so she can see what we're doing. Thats about it. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff.

its not potty-training....this is done with newborns! Basically, its just listening even more closely to baby than we already do!

    I'll do that
I never have heard of that before. I usually can tell when leane's "making friends in her pants" as we jokingly say sometimes, but I never throught of bringing her to the potty.

that's awesome. it's the coolest thing EVER to watch a human being develop :)

i did ec with my oldest and it was fun. we never mastered day time, but then again, i didn't start untill she was 8 months old. she and i worked together at night really well so she basically has been night trained since 10 months, so at least we got something for our effort :)

it's so funny to have a little adult! my oldest has always been so grown up. my second was the opposite though. they are both so fun though sooo different. my third is somewhere in between.

i agree with kathi, that little adult will make a great big sister someday, lol!
