Salvia extract is a powder isn it? If so, how do you pack a bowl with powder? Do you just put some other type of herb in there? Tobacco, pot, etc and then hit it? How much salvia do you use per sitting? How do you measure it out without a scale? Also, how long do the leaves and or extract stay good?

its not a powder, although its a lot smaller than weed. a screen will work just fine. Amount to use in one sitting depends on if its plain leaf or what amount of extract it is.

they actually just sell salvia extract enhanced leaf or extract based salvia elixir in alcohol and water.

the extraction can be crude (i.e. just remove a dark green oily stuff and put that back onto the leaf) or standardized (which means a precise extraction to powdered salvinorin which is reapplied to the leaf material).

extract enhanced leaf will look like regular leaf - crude will seem darker (maybe more moist) than regular leaf as the chlorophyls tannins and oils are concentrated too. Standardized may look lighter than regular leaf especially if the leaf was de-tannined and dechlorophyllized for a smoother smoke and taste.

www.sagewisdom.org has all the info - check it out.

the pure salvinorin is not for smoking at all.

the extract and leaves stay good indefinitely.

wet ones can go moldy so keep dry, but moldy stuff is still good and potent after properly dried.
