She is definately one of my idols. She's so intelligent, and powerful and not to mention way to cool for her own good. Her music has definately helped me out from time to time. I'm very glad that I discovered her.

Its funny, I don't play all that much Ani when I gig but both School Night and Make Me Stay are on my set list. School Night makes my dear mommy cry, the second verse, oi, its amazing how she conveys the emotions of such a situation through her lyrics. "But then what kind of scale compares the weight of two beauties, the gravity of duties or the groundspeed of joy. Tell me what kind of guage can quantify elation, what kind of equation could I possibly employ." That gets me all choked up.

Can I just say how happy I am to have found this thread!? Ani is undoubtedly my favorite current artist, though I'm not too into the whole feminist thing...

i've showed friends her music (mainly self-evident) and she didn't like it because ani intimidated her. haha, it's sort of understandable, especially if that's the first song you heard.
that was quite a while ago now, and the same friend now loves listening to her!

    anyways, she's amazing. (x1893784371)

She's definitely the biggest inspiration in my life.

I quote her lyrics to myself and others all of the time. I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with her or anything, I don't try to meet her. . and I wouldnt' say she saved my life or anything. She just has this perfect way of saying things I'm thinking. . but in a way I will never be smart enough to come up with.

I'm really enjoying her new album, "Reprieve." Some of the songs are so heartbreaking, and a lot of them correspond to where I am in life right now.

I've seen her 8 times in concert. . including 2 shows during the "Broken Leg Tour" LOL. . and I thought she was fantasic sitting down. I was so surprised how much she rocked out without being able to dance around like she always does. . lol.

Her non-broken foot was going crazy under her chair, and I thought it was hot. . lol

    So yeah, bitch rocks.

    Sm**chies!

    Jacob.

Man I drove from Florida to New Orleans to see her about 2 years ago. When I got there I stood outside of this shady little warehouse for about 2 hours when I finally got inside it was and awesome fucking club. it was such a great show. Hammel on Trial opened up for her, it was an awesome show!
