yeah the system realizes kids outta HS wanna get all the knowledge they can...I mean after 12 years of going thru knowledge at a snails pace and testing memory instead, there is a lot of ground to cover.............and break out the cash for that knowledge at college. Makes me wonder if grades 1-12 weren't just some long boring advertisement for college and 'higher' learning? The best part was being with friends 'The power of love rathur than the 'love of power' brings peace to this humble abode right now.' peace unto ye Honor Seed
Except that many state's have similar universitiy structures which are mostly are entirely paid for by the state.
lol... also mentionning the fact that no scientist can really figure out what "intelligence" really is. people with weird brain structures that someone would think very "destroyed" could sometimes appear as very intelligent beings. its knowledge... even if i didnt have a brain there'd be knowledge... its what makes us all. . matter of fact, schizos are reported to have an abnormally large IQ, my godfather was manic-depressive due to drugs (actually i dont think the drugs caused it...), and he was a genious, he finished 3rd in a Canadian math contest... it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with drugs... at least not psychedelics. its all in your nature. drugs is just the easy thing to blame it on. and like ANYTHING else. if one decides to do something in huge quantities very often... something bad's bound to happen. the bad isnt coming out of what he took... its comin out of his own actions. Humans are lazy enough to blame their mistakes on what seems to be the easiest way out. I mean , when theres a murderer on the loose... do we go on saying "the knife the masked man was carrying is DANGEROUS... even though we use it daily for cooking"... no we mostly talk about how sick and deranged the guy was to do such ACTION. Its something he chose... just like people choose to do drugs. yet ... on this occasion we blame drugs and not the people. we'll say "poor guy, he got carried away and took too much meth and destroyed his life"... it has the same irony then if we'd say to the killer "poor guy, his life swept away, he got carried away by weapons" What is there in this universe to make actions and to perceive? i dunno, but the only thing proven is ,us, humans... ive never seen a drug make its own action and trouble... I could put a bullet to my head, and fuck yea. i agree, the bullet has permanent damage on my "intelligence". but is the core of the "tragedy" created by the bullet or myself? The only problem i do see with drugs, is the problem of consuming it in social and image-boosting ways... which is in 99% of the cases. But is that the drug's fault? That's just the setting, and the image that comes along with the consumption of certain drugs in our society... Our action will be taken due to the "good" vibes you will emanate to a certain crowd of youngsters. Weed isnt the drug of choice for no reason. Its short-lasting, socially very convenient, and it gives a nice high to share with some buddies... Chamans do peyote 50 times a year and theyre the wisemen of their tribes... When you put all facts into consideration... I doubt you can longer hold the statement that drugs make you stupid. Lets just say, the typical american kid is stupid. not the drugs.
IQ correlates pretty well with most other measures of intelligence (grades, math and verbal skills, logic, etc). Use (especially heavy use) of many substances will decrease a person's quotient. Most drugs won't necessarily make you retarded. But many will certainly stop you from reaching your full potential and will most likely make you stupider than you would be without. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
I practiced being stupid and retarded on purpose when I was on drugs, but it had no permanent effect. btw, the IQ test only checks one out of 7 types of intelligence. There are 7 according to the Hartvard Zero study, 8 if you ask me. I think that drugs can expose a really stupid side of anyones personality, not to be confused with endearing childlike qualities. I dunno how many boozed up people, mostly males, I have met that wanna fight.....or at least say things that rub my rhubarb the wrong way. Usually that happened at bars, here at home drinking beer around the campfire was cool. Getting stoned just seemed to make people mellow, but I wouldn't trust em to fly me around in a leerjet. People get that daydreamy feeling. peace unto ye HS
the other thing drugs can mess with is sleep, lookin at the time I posted last, just woke up again 25 minutes later and felt like I slept at least 4 hours.
the absurdity in all of this is that ingelligence is a way to measure, kinda like distance and time... But down to the fundamentals. it isnt existant. and once again, the use of drugs is only blamed on the person itself... you cannot fuckin blame the drug, i could blame every piece of material there is for someone's action... "the remote is evil, my mother smacked my sister with it" or "this pencil is sick and the work of the devil, my sister stabbed me with it". come on man... like you said " denial isnt a river in egypt "... blame the people. were the only things out there that perceive and make actions. were the ones with this so called "intelligence"... a drug cant do anything stupid. it doesnt "do". only you can make you stupid. And if you decide to abuse of a drug, its your goddamn problem, lets say your "intelligence" level wasnt all that high before taking the action. or while taking the action. point final
okay here is the skinny types of intelligence 1. thinking in language 2. musical method 3. spacial relationships 4. using your whole body or parts of your body to solve p[roblems 5. Using your mind like a computerto do math 6. relating to others 7. understanding yourself. and I think telepathic brainwave contact is a type of intelligence. okay so doing drugs and the afterwards times thinking about it raise the intelligence on some on the list and lower some on the list, but that is depending on who you are today. Changes can be fast or slow, I really doubt any of you were the same at 7 as now. Some drugs make it so you feel the change fast, some people don't like the feeling of being stuck in an emotional rut, like same ole, same ole crap. They want to feel different after dropping the pill, snorting, drinking the tea, smoking or slamming. But for me it always came back who I am, which meant I still had the urge to feel different, feel the change. That I call craving, I was hooked on the change in my attitude. Don't really know if you understand any of this or not. People who stereotype drug users are glad they ole lame ass selves don't change. They'd shit their pants if they woke up one day and went gee wilikers I really like that guy/girl for being unique and different. They don't crave change, they crave the feeling of being better. I'd ramble on for another few thousand words but my butt hurts from sitting down, see ya all latah.
