    Which distro are you running ?
    In firefox maybe you could choose:

    edit---->preferences---->content---->Fonts &Colors(set fonts size etc....)

    hope it helps....

    wish i saw this thread earlier. i run fedora core 5 100% on my desktop. everything works, and everything is free. i run ubuntu on my iBook and it is awsome. if you have the universe and/or multiverse repo's enabled then you can get widgets and all kinds of cool stuff. even wireless works.

    I just found you can install the msttcore fonts to get that familiar windows type. True fonts looks better if you are used to it.

    currently running PCLinuxOS, but when they have an RC for Fedora Core 6, I'll probably put it on. (liked FC5, but... new stuff comes out and I try it)

    I use Firefox for Linux mostly. I've got a combo Windows/Linux PC(dunno what distro, I installed it a year ago) and I sometimes use Knoppix(live CD distro) on it. Linux works better than XP Pro SP2, IMO :)

    I used to run Linux and other unix based os's exclusively for many years at home, then I just felt it was easier to run free copies of windows and it reminded me less of work. When I need to do things with linux or any os for that matter I can use VMWare Server.

    I really don't use windows that much either. Actually, as long as you don't have a host-based laser printer.....what's the use. Now that they use "windows genuine advantage" on win2k updates too, bootleg windows is getting to be too much of a hassle.

    If your only use for windows is host-based laser printing just use samba. I use windows cause it's made for inept people.

    Well, gotta have windows GDI to assemble "the bytes" for host-based. I could just put together a windows print server and set up the share through Samba....I'm just lazy.
    By the way, I work in a laser printer test lab....I've heard some clever shit to get around the cheapass formatters in these printers. It's just so far down on my list of priorities. hehehe

    meh....we got some cool printers coming out soon....when they do, last years network printers will get cheap enough....I'm just waiting

    You are so NOT inept......admit it.....LOL

    I hear ya'. I used to do duration testing on firmware. (ran dozens of commercial prototype printers till they hung or croaked, "dumped the stack", set up the triage, rebooted and went again) I did that till I hosed my hand with the repeated actions of loading and unloading hundreds of reams of paper a day into and out of those beasts. So, they moved me down to customer validation testing. (it's kind of a work there till you die kind of job) I don't get called after hours. I can act anyway I want to now.........
