This contains period talk... so you've been warned. [IMG]

Is anyone on Yaz birth control pills? What are/were your experiences with it? Good? Bad? Side effects? Compared to other BC pills?

I just finished my third month on it. So far I like it, it's the gentlest pill I've been on. I'm on it for hormone issues, not birth control.

I've been taking it every day at the same time. I didn't have any breakthrough bleeding until a week ago, and I had the breakthrough bleeding for 8 or 9 days until I reached the placebo pills and started the actual period. It wasn't heavy, but it was still annoying. According to my doc, this shouldn't happen after 3 months, so next month should be clear. I hope so.

However, I might have thought this one had no side effects a little too soon. The last 2 weeks, I've felt nauseated and had a lot of hot flashes and things like that, stuff that feels hormonal... so I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like that after being on BC pills for a while.

Oh... one thing I liked about Yaz was it only has 4 days of placebo pills rather than 7. So, supposedly, my periods would only be 4 days long. Wrong. Even after I start taking the active pills again, I still have my period for a couple of extra days so that makes it 6 days. Annoying.

That's totally off... I would try another brand. Ortho Tri-Cyclen LO is great. That was the first pill I was on before I went on Seasonale, which is a godsend.

What are the differences between OTC Lo and Seasonale?
