I would like to create a member group called "Christians and Friends". It would be for Christians and those who are Christian-friendly: can remain friendly and respectful of Christians' beliefs. It would mostly be a fellowship group for Christians. It would have it's own protected forums that only members of the group can post in, so that us Christians can have some fellowship without having to defend every little thing we say, be harrassed, or whatever else. If any of you know me, you know I have a little forum that serves the same purpose. That forum will become part of the member group and will become protected yet public.

However, I need at least 6 people ready to sign up and join this group before it will be created. Anyone interested? Remember, it's for Christians, and Christian-friendly are certainly welcome, but there will be no basic theological debates or Christian-bashing/harassing. There's enough of that in this Christianity forum. If you are interested in joining the membergroup, just say so in this thread and I will come back and edit the list below as necessary. Thanks!

Wheee! We've already got enough people for the group to be considered. Thanks guys!

This doesn't mean it has to stop. If you'd still like make your desire to join known, do so! I'll just keep adding to the list! :)

Oh yeah, one more thing I forgot to add, it may be some time before the group is actually created, since Skip is the one that has to do it and he's got a lot going on, so be patient guys.

He's also got to "approve" the group, as in agree to it as the admin of the site, so it's still not set in stone. We may have a good chance though. ;)

I'm a "universal spirituality" type and Jesus Christ and principles of Christianity certainly play an important role in this. I'd like to join, mainly as an listener and to appreciate the positive aspects...no debates, I promise...anything like that will be in general forum threads.

My debates with others here about the general areas of Christian doctrine that I don't agree with have mainly been friendly, though guys like Erasmus70 tend to bring out a somewhat more aggressive approach.

Well you're certainly welcome, and I appreciate the respect of the fellowship aspect and the promise of no debates. :)

Actually just in case, I should clarify that it's specifically theological debates, debates about the basics of Christian beliefs that won't be allowed, such as whether or not there is a God, did Jesus really exist, that kind of thing. You know, stuff people like Libertine, whose views I deeply respect but whom wears me out, likes to post about. LOL [IMG] (Love ya, Libby)

However, debates about the smaller things in which the basics of Christian beliefs are a given will be allowed, such as interpretations of Scripture, "Are tattoos wrong", things like that. Those are healthy and encouraged, as long as people remain acceptably respectful. This way those who want Christian and Christian-friendly input on a subject or just plain fellowship with other Christians can get it without fear of having it hijacked by "God isn't real anyway so it doesn't matter" or other completely unsolicited, unhelpful, or downright rude and malicious responses. (Dang, long sentence)

I'm sure the stuff that isn't going to be allowed may pop up anyway, but that's ok. I believe it can be moved to a more appropriate place like Christianity if necessary. I'm not trying to abolish debates about Christianity, I'm just trying to create a sort of "safe place" for those who are Christians.

For the record, in case anyone else feels the same way spook does, I have requested that the forums for this group be viewable to the public, so you all will still be able to see what's going on with us. Membership is only needed if you want to actually participate, so you don't have to join if you don't want to. :)

That is Mr Dress-Up. He was a staple of kids shows on CBC. The thing he is opening is the Tickle Trunk. It holds all of his costumes and things that he wears (hence the name Mr Dress-Up). It was a great show.

How did I manage to miss Mr. Dres-up. I've never heard of him. I've heard of and am familiar with all the other kids shows of the era, so how did I miss him?
