I'm new to growing, in fact I haven't quite started yet because before I start I need to work out the issue of strong odors coming from it. I dont know how much it will smell, but I'm sure it has a formitable odor. If anyone would know of any ways to eliminate the odor from growing (other than the obvious air fresheners), maybe some sort of fan or device I can order online I would really appreciate it so I can get this thing going. -Post Note; After some looking around I decided this ozone generator could get the job done. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea/has something better I'm still open. http://www.hydroponicswholesale.com/product_info.php/products_id/808
When my old ape tells me the smell is too much I take shower! Since we have no idea what you got going thats the best I can do! If your in a primarily boys dorm no prob they smell anyway, if your in a convolesant homes use urinal cakes they'll know the diff, see what I mean?
Ive got something small, about a 3x3 ft wooden container in my closet of the house. Im going to have intake and exhaust fans on it. Maybe something around the exhaust? I was thinking i could place the ozone generator inside and that would help the smell, but im not sure if this will hurt/help the plants. From what I gather it emits co2 and oxygen so im thinking it may help...but what do i know anyway
Ozone generators are ok as long as they are not to close to the plants. You could also attach a carbon scrubber to your extractor fan. I use air ionisers as well there not as good as ozone generators but they do help.
just get a suppa fly fan and hook it up to a nice homemade 5 gallon bucket carbon scrubber, should help signifficantly
The odor absorbing gel stuff works great for me, might be somethin you could pick up in addition to whatever else if you are really worried about smell. I picked a couple up at home depot for like 3 bucks each so they're cheap, and very effective. I have one in my vegi and one in my bloom, and ya can't smell the weed, even with my stinky lil grandy daddy purp.
