I'm going shroom hunting today!

So in about 20 minutes i'm gonna head otta here and go for a nice long hike in the woods looking for some amanitas! Supposedly this is the perfect time if season to find them ... So i'm gonna give it a try.

Well I just got back!

I found a really big red mushroom, i'm not sure if it's an aminita though.

I doubt that it is ...

I'm uploading the pics of it now.

i dont know...i though amanitas look different,but i dont undurstand from shrooms,so its better to keep my big mouth shut:&

lol nah thats no amanita... personally i wouldnt try eating it... but it is a very beautiful find... it looks like a big healthy shroom. Is that the only thing you found?!?! in what kind of place were you walking?

 

yah i wouldnt chance it....i'm not very experienced with mushrooms.. but that one screams "no touchie".....sorry you didnt find anything better, though...

At least you found something cool. I went for a couple hours yesterday and came up with nothing. I wasn't in an area that was very pine-tree-ey though..

Darn it.

Well It was the only mushroom I saw ... and I was walking for a good few hours.

It was a pretty dense 'forest' ... there were quite a few pine trees, and a lake ... It seemed like a good setting ... I guess it's too dry right now for mushrooms to grow, were having a bit of a drought. It hasn't rained at all this month.
