My 9 month old child had a fever of 103, from teething I think, I tried to give her a sponge bath with a few drops of lavender in a bowl of cool water and it brought her tempature down to 99 within the half hour.

I like ginger for stomach ailments, & black licorice for bloating, throat, & tummy...Both in moderation.
Chewing down some parsley is a quick fix for bad breath.

My Choctaw grandmother always had a treatment for insect bites like scorpions and spiders. It also is a help for a cut that is looking like it is trying to become infected.
As soon as you can after bitten or cut take a handful of peach tree leaves and rinse them well under cool water. Put them in a sauce pan with fresh water and bring to a boil, once they begin to boil add enough corn meal to bind it all together and make a type of mush. Remove from stove and allow to cool. You should have a thickened mixture. When it is cool enough not to burn you take some clean gauze or cloth and put some of the mixture on it to make a poltice. Then put on the affected area. You can bandage it down for the best effect. Leave it on the site as long as you can (over night) and the poltice will suck out the poison. ***Do not eat or drink boiled peach leaves as they can become toxic from the boiling.
I was stung by a scorpion and after soaking my foot in hot epson salt water then applying this treatment you couldn't tell I was ever stung.

Another treatment is for bad ant bites. When I was a kid I was playing in a red ant bed and they attacked me stinging me on and between my legs more times than we could count.
My grandmother quickly chewed a chaw of chewing tobacco and stripped me down. Then applied the tobacco to the now red swollen sites. It soothed the painful stings. Something about the tobacco mixed with saliva does the trick.
