any Camping in Chicago area? IN, WI, IL?

Hey I just moved to Chicago and am looking for a great campsite for labor day weekend. I want some place that has water, either river or lake, big pond, creek... I want to be away from busy roads. Any suggestions from wisconsin to indiana to illinois? I don't want to drive hours from chicago but I can do a small roadtrip.

 

You had better be leaving today around 1am or it will take hours just to get out of Chicago and dont plan on comming home till Weds or it will be hours trying to get back in.

 

Well I can take the train out of the city to the suburbs where my car is so actually it won't take hours. but thanks for the optimism

 

Well it's always nice to get some more hip people in Chicago....
But I would suggest Shawnee if your willing to drive that far. I've only lived in Chicago for a year now, but I have some friends who know the camping a bit better- I'll check on it for you and get back to you.
