Animism is a belief that everything animate or inanimate has a soul..every rock, tree, animal, leaf has a soul.
To be animistic is to be "one" with nature.
In our day to day lives we can sometimes get out of touch with nature, here are some ideas that you can do to get back to nature...

    1. go on a hike..barefoot, you never experience nature untill it is physically stuck to the bottom of your foot :)

    2. instead of watching tv read books on shamanism, environmentalism, and nature

    3. PICK UP TRASH WHERE EVER YOU SEE IT..i can not stress this enough, our dear earth mother is being physicall poisoned by us..bring a trash bag with you when ever you go on a hike and clean up our beloved mother

    4. buy organic fruits and vegies, specifically from a farmers market..they need our (the hippies) support to stay in business

    5. sit by a pond and go swimming..get out and let the wind dry you and the sun warm you..preferably without clothes (they are constricting)

    6. my point is..get out in nature and experience it first hand :)

I think a more appropriate term, simply of its context, would be "spirit". Everything has spirit.

Yes, spirit would be the word.

It is our spirit that is one with
nature, it is our soul that keeps
    us apart.

The two must be in balance.

getting back to nature is definatley something and i find my passion towards the Earth pulling me back over and over again, not understanding how nobody else sees lifes answers so clearly and simply literally right in front of them. its not in a package or a doller bill, or a bottle, or a television, or a school, or inside four walls, or anything else youve been taught to value and not question. its nature, where we came from and its so unbelieveably simple its mindblowing how so many miss it. but whatever i guess...

i see myself learning a looooooot about plants and herbs and organic gardening and self-sustainability in the future and strengthening my ties to the earth as much as possible, and i know right now that even though i know so much more than most, there are still sooooo many different things to learn about that connects me to what should be. but theres always gonna be new things to learn and experience, and thats what keeps things exciting and meaningful. the earth offers us a huuuge bounty of things to work with and enjoy in so many different ways, but its up to us to just see whats already there. and just sordove untie the plastic life weve been given, unlearning all this mess this societys laid on us, and living a completley new way, the way were supposed and the way we left a looong time ago. its not impossible to go back to the garden, but its not easy either. the information is in abundance though and so many people share the very same passion for the land and nature like you probably do, and they devote their whole lives to it oftentimes. doing their thing on their homesteads, sharing and spreading what they know, keeping things real.

george carlin said man traded in paradise for cell phones and jetskis and as usual he was right.... now we fuck with the weather with chemtrails, poison the atmosphere and destroy the land, splice soybean plants with scorpions, make clones, etc.....boy did we bite the apple...we fucked up collectively big time, probably beyond repair, at least one that isnt a complete work of god or one we wont get to see manifest in our lifetimes, unless 2012 is real...

i dont think i believe everything has a soul... but i also dont believe things like animism or voodoo or chanting and mantras being considered ways to weild powers of Gods come outta nowhere. somebody once told me spirit moves through all things and i didnt understand that at first, but now i think i do..and its just, everything can be used for learning and spiritual development, and you can align with so many different things conscious or not, anything, to just witness the miracle of existence.

So many questions, all silenced by the simple sunrise. What wisdom is this, we find, in the quiet infinity of Spirit?
