I think that if weed was ever EVER going to be legalized, it would have happened in the 1960s. What do you think? This isn't a poll to determine whether you think it should be legalized, but whether you think it ever actually will be legalized in the U.S.
I could care less...I stopped smoking pot about a year ago and i've never felt better. This might sound square, but smoking grass really messed me up and i'm glad to know that I probably will never smoke it again. So, in summary, I couldn't give a fuck if grass is legalized or not...it won't affect me.
I don't think the 60's was the only time grass could have been made legal. If pot is ever going to be legalized it's going to be because politicians and people on the inside are going to change it. Not just becuase a bunch of people started smoking it. In other words I think it can still happen.
I think that if anything, the trend is going in the other direction. The whole 'war on drugs' is just intensifying, and the government is becoming more intrusive into people's lives. They're even entrapping doctors and taking their licenses away and jailing them just for prescribing legitimate pain medication for patients. I've got an infected tooth right now, and the dentist wouldn't even give me pain medication because the government has him paranoid because of the crazy things they've done to him and other doctors. And the real problem is that the majority of Americans just sit back and accept the government's right to do that or screw your life up for being caught with a few joints. Most Americans have just become way too complacent about the government telling them just how to live their lives. Until there's a real movement in the other direction, there won't be any change, and that includes marijuana laws. There's virtually no movement politically today to do anything except make drug laws tougher. Unfortunately, I don't see that changing for the better, certainly not in the part of the country (Texas) that I live in, and probably not anywhere else either.
Weed was illegal long before Bush came to Washington. Generously funded narcs kicking down doors, Doggy sniff traffic stops. Infared photography of indoor gardens. Police impound lots filled to the brim with confiscated goods, all up for auction with the proceeds to fund wider, deeper investigations. My-Space monitoring Narcs would have more honest employment selling used cars out on Highway 46. Blossoming burecracies bristling with do-gooder narcs all on goverment pensions, can't anybody say Tax Cut ! Shot gun cameras, boom microphones, wire taps, ariel photographs, hellicopters. paid informers. Obsesive Narcs, linking pot smokers to The Gambino Crime Family, The Cali Cartel and Al Queda. "Dont you know that the proceeds of marajuana sales go to fund terrorism" We had a chance for freedom from 1992 to 2000 with Democrats in power. Instead they courted Soccer Moms, kept evil weed illegal and we were hung out to dry again. The ACLU is distracted my multiple focuses and we come in last ! I wouldnt mind The Man checking my bag If it was legal, The ACLU has it backwards. I'm still hopefull, call me an idiot !
no never. we live in a demonic slavelike state that requires misery and oppression to survive. herb was made illegal specifically for the purpose of keeping it that way. ofcourse the opperators of this state are exempt from most more serious laws to begin with, so they can puff all they want.
Yano people, they are voting to make it legal in Nevada, and another state i just forget exactly which one sometime in november. It could happen guys, if it becomes legal there, it might spread like wild-fire.
this is something of a relative question. there ARE places where it IS legal NOW. not currently under federal law in the u.s. of course. but all things do chainge. there probably won't always be a u.s., any more then there has always been or always will be any soverign nation. if the question is specificly will it ever be legal in the u.s. in the lifetime of anyone alive and reading this while it is being written. that is a complete unknown. but i don't see either possibility as any more or less likely then the other. its insane that it's unlawful now. but that's politics for you. largely economicly motivated short sighted politics at that. and even that is not eternal. =^^= .../\...
hmmm, i would say probably not. as much as i would love it i dont think the government we have now would allow it to happen. maybe once we get a govenment that isnt corrupt....
