I had lunch in a restaurant with a co-worker recently when I noticed an attractive woman on the other side of the restaurant. She was very attractive, so I couldn't help but steal a few glances at her, which she caught me doing. After the second time her glance met mine, she would push her hair back behind her ear, which I seem to recall is one of the classic "I'm interested, come over" signals women give men. Am I correct?

I have noticed that another woman who works down the hall from my office always runs one hand over her butt whenever she notices I am walking behind her. Is this also a deliberate "check me out, I'm interested" signal? She seems to do it automatically whenever she notices me behind her.

Maybe, but everybody likes to know that look their best when people are paying them any kind of attention... If you are even half handsome, she'll feel conscious of not giving you the right impression of her looks, or even her behaviour..

It won't always mean "Come and get me", which is a far cry from "I'm interested"...

It's subtle flirting.. Comparable to a cat honing it's killing skills even though it isn't hungry.... Everybody likes to know that can still "work thier magic" even if they already have somebody back home....

    .....

Don't ask me how to move the the next step! It's not something I would do!

It's preening. People do it when they notice others are looking at them. Birds do it too, though not because other birds are looking at them, or perhaps they are, but because it is important for the bird to have good feathers because that makes it a "healthy bird". You never heard this crap in high school? Women always do it when a guy is checking them out, sort of a learned behavior I suppose. I don't know that it necesarily means the woman is interested in you in particular, but perhaps just likes the attention of any man, I don't know her so I can't really say. I have friends like this though.

I'm sorry if that is not what you are looking for. I'm really not sure of the signals women send out when they are interested because I don't play games. If I'm interested in someone I crash his party. :) Good luck on figuring this one out.

She coulda just been looking to see if you were looking too.... I do that sometimes, in bars for example, and it seems to send the wrong signals around. Gotta keep my eyes to myself I guess, instead of wondering if mr creepy is staring at me all night long.

Yeah I look all around in bars too. Not because I care about attracting the attention of the opposite sex (I'm usually at the bar with my boyfriend) but to see if there is anyone or anything interesting going on. That is how you make friends.

Oh god, I totally forgot that Western women did that... I've been living away for so long!
Suddenly the thought of going back makes me cringe.

Yeah your right about that. Sometimes women just like the idea of you looking at them but not being attracted to you. Thats just the way all women are, even when there married. They just like attention.

Usually that's when you just have to grow some serious balls and approach her. If she turns you down, well just remember that she is without.

usually it is not in approriate situations for me (i.e. at work or school)
but "balls out" has been my gameplan lately
it's simple and it leaves you without all the regret once shit doens't work out

This is true. You just need a lot of people around you to make you look good, but then you would be playing a mind game as well.
