Any way I want to start drawing my own stuff just for fun but every thing I draw looks funnier than my 5 year old brothers stuff.

So Where should I start? Im pretty lost.

i'd suggest doodling... always have a pen and paper on hand and just draw whatever comes to mind, even (or mostly) just shapes. also you can experiment with beginning art stuff, like line strength, fast, slow, consistent lines, outline drawings without picking up the pencil/pen, tracing even.

No it was totally clear, they just didn't give a fuck about reading, clicked the link and make a new none-constructive post.

I don't really get you... After 17 years you now feel the need of arts? I mean you are an artistic person or you are not. By reading your post I kinda feel like you now want to start doing shit because of drugs... wich is totally out of the point of arts... You can do that stuff sober... don't blame drugs. My most fucked up psychedelic stuff I came up with was done sober.

I don't think there's a place to start... It's just a part of you, let yourself go, trust your lines.

my opinion as an artist who is just starting art again after a bout with drugs may be a little tilted. First off, I am doing a painting of carrots that are a castle today. I drew the thing years ago on canvas board. I don't draw for anyones enjoyment other than my own. Some comments here suggest some people are real touchy about starting art, it comes from the way we were forced at school and home to concentrate on subjects which would bring a career that would bring a better and steady income. So you see teh-horace the intense jealousy of anyone wiht the gumption to stop drugs which essentially knock the innocent child-like exuberance of creativity out of ya, and really do turn you into a grumpy ole adult jsut like the ones much older than you. I'd be happy that you regressed to a 5 yr old level of expression, you are one of the lucky ones my friend.
