Damn dready family.. I've found the miracle! This shit REALLY helped my hair. I made a lemon juice/saltwater mix, and I spritzed it all over my hair really well. But now I smell like a lemon! It really does seem like its doing good for my hair. My hair tends to be on the oily side, so its dried it out a whole bunch, and therefore helping it dread becauses for me, dried out damaged hair dreads better than my normal hair. JMO. I shouldn't be washing this out, should I? Because I didn't. It kinda makes my scalp itchy, so I guess that I should just do the dreadies themselves, and not my scalp. And that lemony smell is starting to get to me. Oh well, ya live ya learn.

I can't wait till I can live on the ocean, and get that goodie salt water on my dreadies everyday.. my hair will be so nappy and tight.. I'll be in dready heaven!

I'd say, don't use salt, that's what's itching, I used it once --> salt everywhere on the furniture, bed, clothes, lemon juice is ok, but mix it with some water and just rub it in, don't bath in it, a little is enough to make your locks less oily.

I think im gonna try that. Anything to make my hair a tad less oily. 3/4 water 1/4 lemon juice sound about right?

You know, I'm not too sure. I just threw a bunch of sea-salt in with a bunch of lemon juice. More lemon juice than salt for sure! Oh in response to WorldPeace, I have blonde hair, so I either can't see the salt, or its not there. Either, I don't care. And I only had the itchies for about 10 minutes, so nothing too major. I didn't end up washing it out, either...and my hair feels great! I'm not too sure how often I should do this... I'd like to do it fairly often, maybe every other day, cause my hair gets oily as fuck. Will I damage my hair if I do it that often?

If you use too much salt your hair may get too dry and it can break..

YEAH I never though I would be saying this, but my hair got TOO dry! (I have massive oily-ness) It wasnt a big deal, not to the point of breakage or anything... but I should probably only do it like once a week, maybe. Thanks for all your wonderful replies, guys. It's great that theres a forum where people can get direct answers for all their dreadie needs... yay for the knotty know-how! :)

ps... we should try and get the forum to be moved to the front page. A lot more people would frequent this place, if we did! Just a suggestion.
