Anybody got a cure for vicious squirrells....they took out my first 3 grows in seperate locations very quickly:$ . before the plants were even 5 inches tall teh squirrells take the plant roots and all. One of the plants was even hanging by a few fishing lines from a tall tree branch. I have another grow which started in a window sill but needs to be transplanted to the outside....any suggestions. i was going to build almost like a cage of chicken wire and cellophane roof to help prevent heavy rain damage on the babies. many thanks.
I can't figure out how squirrels could hang a plant from a tree with fishing line. If you found a plant hanging on fishing line in a tree, a person was involved. You can't start an outside grow this time of year--way too late in the year. Wait until next spring.
If squirrels are really squirreling off your 5" seedlings, then next time you grow there (too late now) try putting a wagon train circle of sticky boards around each plant. You'll be amazed at what you catch.
