Is it me or........... photograph question

Is it me or does it seem like photographs from the 60's and 70's are so much more different from the photographs now? There is just something about them. Like for instance, I was looking at these pictures in my Dad's highschool year book from the early 70's, all the pictures had this classic time set look to them. I could tell what year they were in without even knowing what year it was. However if you were to take a photograph today of someone who expresses themself like one would have in the 60's or 70's, it just wouldn't look like they were in that time. Does anybody understand what I am trying to say here?

just like when u look at a photo from the late 1800s early 1900s you can automatically tell. its pretty cool. idk if thats what u were talking about but thats what i got from it haha

 

I know what you mean. I don't think it has to do so much with the subject of the picture as it does with the technology available and the camera in question, along with development of the picture, and such. You'll notice the same things in old movies versus newer movies.

 

it's weird if you think about it. especially the hair. you can take pictures from past decades and look at them and know what decade it is by the way people dressed or what the home decor is like. it makes you wonder what this decade will be remembered for.

 

I can only imagine what pictures will look like in 40 years. CrAzY!!!
