What does a a young conservative do faced with the dillema of being offered scholarship money from a socialist system?

That is, does a conservative take scholarships that offer him free money for being a minority, poor, disabled, or just plain because he happens to live in a state where education is heavily subsidized for the masses under a general 'everyone ought to have an education' socialist program.

    Does he:
    A) reject the money - leading to consequence: (i) he borrows $70,000 to further his education and another $150,000 for grad/medical/law school, paying it back in time while others who took the money are debt free. (ii) he borrows $70,000 for undergrad, never finishes his education, and is stuck with massive debt. (iii) elects not to go to school at all since its "liberal" education under the 'everyone needs equal education' ideology - which, from the conservative perspective, leads to inferior education for all.

    B) take the money - leading to the consequence of: (i) flat out hypocrasy, (ii) temporarily suspending ones values to get into higher non-socialist education (with the objective of eventually overturning the system). That is - using what one has available to him given one's reality.

Personally - if i were a young conservative - I would even move to a leftist state JUST to get the cheaper education, with the hope of getting the grades to eventually get into the great private and expensive institutions - where i would borrow to pay my own way. It would be downright irresponsible NOT to do this.

The question can't be answered because there are fundamental flaws in your premise. You are assuming that scholarships based on non-merit requirements are socialistic in nature. This is not usually the case. Most scholarships given to poor, disabled, and minority students are given out through the Private rather than Public sector. This isn't socialism.
