I didn't like them. It basically just put me in a daze and caused me to see flashes of color all around me, which was cool, until the other effects started. I began to sweat profusely; to the point that my clothes were soaked and sweat was actually dripping from my shirt. Then, at some point, my dick began to hurt VERY badly, as if dull needles were being jabbed into it. It hurt so bad I almost passed out. It was probably the worst pain I have ever experienced, and that's saying something.
They're okay. I bought an ounce+ bag of A+ specimens on line. The first time I tried them, I ate about 2-3 grams in Ramen noodles. Not a whole lot of effect. The second time I ate them, I ate about twice as much. I got a buzz, but still not much in the way of psychedelic effect. Things look different, but not that different. I certainly didn't see anything that wasn't there to begin with. It's like being drunk without the alcoholic euphoria. Or, like being stoned, but not high. The effect is more like a reaction to a really, really mild poison than any type of psychedelic drug. It's how you would expect to feel if a feverish head cold were enjoyable. The one noteworthy effect is that dreams and consciousness seem to blend. It makes you real drowsy, and able to essentially mentally doze off while doing common routines. You also get distracted very easily. (*This effect was noticed after two consecutive days of doing at about a quarter each day.) Not an anti-social drug, but not really a party drug either. I'll give it a 5 out of 10.
lol just do 15g+ and tell me its not psychedelic... If good mushrooms, and high potency of muscimol and ibotenic acid in your amanitas (which is always HARD to tell)... youre in for quite a trip... but you really have to take more then 10g... 1-5 is light dose and you can even take up to like 40-50g before lethal doses... take 30g and youll like it fo sho.
Well, they're groovy, relaxing, and kind of trippy. They're definitely not a waste of money. But then, I got some kind and smoked that while I ate the rest of the Amanitas, so it's hard to tell exactly what's what. But as far as I can tell, the effect starts off as similar to a half bottle of wine, but a little bit more disorienting. At first, I hadn't noticed the little hocus-pocus to them that starts creeping in. The trippy effect seems to take longer to come on (up to 3 hours). Some 13-14 grams of Amanitas muscaria and bong hits of kind can make one extra very high. Very, very trippy... but tripping? I don't know. My eyes are dodging around, everything looks trippy, and I'm extra, extra high. Dick doesn't hurt, and no profuse sweating. Though, mine were heat dried, so bad chems were changed to good in prep. If these just didn't have that damn grit in them! I picked out a pine needle too. Mmmm... Latvian dirt. Definitely have the right to be called a *Magic* mushroom.
dude these grow all over around here. I have been in fields full of this stuff! i knew it had potential to be psychedelic, but i also heard its got a low LD50, and its kinda dangerous
They need to be prepared properly to minimize the negative effects. Without a chemical change, negative side effects experienced usually include sweating and drooling. The procedure involves simply heating the mushrooms to 180 degrees F. This breaks down bad ingredients (Ibotenic Acid and Muscarine) and changes them into good (Muscimol). (I'm not a chemist, this is just what I've read.) Heating is either done by heat drying, or cooking the mushroom. If cooking the mushrooms in water, you don't want to boil the water or else you will destroy the muscimol in the mushrooms that you do want. If heat drying, position the caps upside down so all liquids stay in the cap and are dehydrated instead of draining out. ----------- Most of the active ingredients grow immediately under the red skin. Though there is muscimol present in the entire mushroom, top quality bags include only caps.
Ya I haven't tried them but I want to, the negative effects can be reduced it seems by using only the cap, and mostly the skin of the cap, then you bake it in an oven in tinfoil, so it simmers in its own juices... its actually starting to sound delicious. Check it out on erowid, under general info. http://www.erowid.org/plants/amanitas/amanitas.shtml and heres an actual preparation guide for you lazy bastards. http://www.erowid.org/plants/amanitas/amanitas_info_petri.shtml I have a Finnish and Russian friend, and both say they've seen thousands of these at a time, but have always been told that they are deadly poisonous... which it seems they can be if not used properly. Can anyone tell me if theres any other types with red and white spots that are look alikes? Because their other poisonous look alikes (death caps and destroying angels) look nothing like flyagarics to me.
A. muscaria grow just about everywhere in temperate zones with pine and birch trees. And there aren't any look alikes as far as I know. (Although, Amanita panthera mushrooms are a white variety that is supposed to be even more effective, but a different white Amanita is one of the more deadly mushrooms around. It's best to stick to the red ones.) The effect is more of a high than a trip. It might be kind of a trippy high, but still not a trip in the classic LSD, psilocybe, mescaline sense of the term. It may feel trippy because it is strange and different, but I still wouldn't classify it as a proper trip. If you feel like you're getting too high from them, the remedy (according to on-line reports) is to just wait it out. Relax. The effects go away by themselves. There's nothing the hospital can do except bill you. Go eat some melon. I read somewhere that nobody has died from Amanita muscaria in North America in the last 20 years. As long as you're not stupid with it, ie. don't exceed a reasonable amount and prepare them properly, then you should be okay. I would consider trying them for the historical significance of the mushroom alone. And, they're pretty good dried. Texturally like a cross between jerky and marshmallow. Taste is lightly meaty and spicy. The salt seems to sit on the tongue for a while. You need to be warned though, the negative side effects (sweating, drooling, nausea, etc.) build along with the dosage. It's kind of what it would be like if pot was toxic at high doses. So, don't eat too much. And don't eat them that often.
Fly Agarics (amanitas) are the only legal mushroom for supply in the UK now. Ive tried them 3 times. All times I mixed them with weed. The first time, I was out in a town and when i felt them kick in i had a mild giggly effect until we got to the bus station and it was packed. i was just confused then until i got home. I remember not wanting to eat anything and i sat in a chair for an hour looking at the wall, making my own patterns out of the wallpaper without the concious thought of boredom. The second time, I was at my ex's house. Took 15g and smoked 5g (researched into what parts were smokable, and read some trip reports through smoking them - previous to this). I mixed the amanitas with weed in a joint and it gave me a much more sedated high. When the mushrooms kicked in, i felt my face go numb and my head tingled for a while. I was confused, but at the same time intrigued. I understand what people have said about that dream-like state of mind you enter, coz i was sitting on her sofa watching the simpsons and my mind kept following the story, then cutting off, then re-joining - made it a little more interesting than normal! The 3rd time, we had 80g between 4 of us and we were rolling on ecstasy (i had 4 E's night). we split the bags 4 ways (20g each). i couldn't really tell what they did at first, but we chonged some weed with them to intensify any effect. i came down off the E, enjoyed the weed and tried bringing myself up when the amanitas kicked in and i started rolling again, only i had strong hallucinations when i closed my eyes, in a calming way. as if i had a mind's eye that was in a completely different place. spontaneous images, i remember one was a holly bush (god knows why). my mind just showed this holly bush and my vision zoomed in, displaying a load of holly berries and the image was perfectly clear, clearer than a profesisonal photograph. this eased the comedown off the E amazingly, and when we went to sleep to some light music my mind was in a state of visually enhancing euphoria. the weird thing is - they seemed to cure the morning/day-after-ecstasy-stomach-ache! they smell and taste like shit though. and after the amount of stuff i've read about them since experimenting with them, i don't think i'd like to touch them again.
I believe they're found in the fall. Though they are legal, you do need to be carefull with them. They're not 100% safe like weed is. They get toxic when you start taking amounts necessary to give more than a mild buzz. They are poisonous mushrooms, after all.
