Anybody seen the latest T-mobile ad where they put the people in a box and let them talk? They are supposed to be about people that can talk a lot and the first couple included a family and a little girl. This one has two hippie looking guys with long shaggy hair babbling on cell phones. At one point one of the guys says "Dude I don't even know where I am right now!!!" Now is it just me or is this a blatant refernce to stoners? I mean seriously how many times does one of your friends call you when you're blazed and they are as well and you just babble back and forth to each other for a while?
hahaha I haven't seen it yet, but I will be on the lookout. lol It says a lot that the stoner culture is becoming so mainstream and socially acceptable again. It makes me proud
^^ ya i hear ya the straight edges have been rulin for a while in a way... i mean like socially... fuck it im too baked
no i wouldnt be too proud, the commerical made stoners look like a bunch of mindless idiots who babble on for hours about nothing...
I think it's pretty good. It shows that smoking isn't such a taboo anymore. Everyone does it, even the t-mobile people.
Yeah but it seems to be becoming more socially acceptable, which means we are one more stepp closer to legalization. I mean, they wouldn't include stoners in a cell phone comercial if they considered weed to be immoral. T-Mobile seems to be an ally.
Topnotch no need to excuse yourself. You're always excused as far as I'm concerned I'm just making sure though this is a reference to stoners right? I mean is there anything else they could be referring to? And if it's stoners why in the world would the put that in their commercial? I just feel like there are probably bigger audiences that you could sell cell phones to than stoners.
Why, thank you. Cool I don't know man. There is quite an abundance of stoners out there, though undercover some of us may be(not me, I am quite obvious with my stoneyness), we are the majority in today's society, it seems. That's a large audience. If nothing else, it seems to be much more acceptable than it was a couple of years ago. Quite a bit of progress in a few years' time. Better late than never.
Dude the first time I saw it I was in disbelief. I was confused. It was just too obvious. Usually I see shit referring to stoners/weed and it's discrete and usually just my stoned thinking that everything is about weed. But this one is right there even when I'm sober.
seriously LMAO, i saw this commercial this morning and i was like "holy shit that guy looks like a fucking stoner! i should tell people! i should post on hipforums!" Beat me to it, didnt ya?
They should do one now with two people on Shrooms. The two people can just stare at the lights on their phones.
damn i feel the exact opposite, lol. i think its stupid that people act like they smoke when they dont, it just makes me mad. But on second hand, i am glad its being accepted, but i dont want everyone to smoke pot, because then IMO, people would have reasons for fucking up, and i just think the world would be a lot dumber, haha . just my opinion dont hate me ;D
No hate on my part. That is a completely legit opinion. I don't want everyone to smoke pot either. Such a wonderful herb should be reserved only for those who deserve to be under it's influence, such as our MJ forum brethren. We are a bunch of weed-lovin motherfuckers and, for the most part, we all treat it with respect, as far as I can tell.
this reminds me of a vodafone mobile phone photo ad with a guy with an afro (if i remember correctly) wearing a rastafari-coloured wristband with a pot leaf.
