Hi, I'm Chris and I'm an alcoholic. Not really, that was just by way of an introduction. I'm 18, currently starting a diploma in Kinesiology. "What the fuck is kinesiology?" I hear you ask. Well, that's a good question. It's an "alternative" (read: better) therapy, using a system of muscle testing to determine what's wrong with people and the correct solution. Hopefully I'll make a living out of that, cause I havent found anything else that particularly appeals career-wise (apart from other alternative health stuff). Musically, I'm into pretty much everything except pop and rap (ugh). I also play guitar (badly) and nativ american flute (pretty well). I've considered myself a "hippie" (insofar as I apply labels to myself) for pretty much as long as I can remember. Well, thats pretty much all I can think of right now, any questions?
Welcome to the UK Forum, I hope you enjoy posting here, it's a lovely little community. Ok, first question, how did you find Hipforums? People seem to have arrived here in a lot of different ways. Personally, the 16 year old newly formed hippy that I was just typed in www.hippy.com and I've been hooked ever since....
whats the strangest thing you have ever done out of boredom>? yer wierd question but i have just made yoda out of tin foil!!! yer im bored!!! What do you like to do in your spare time?
Who am I? I AM. Only answer anyone can give. I'm the Earth, as we all are. We're all connected. How did I find Hipforums? I really can't remember... I think (not sure) I was linked to a post here from another forum I post on, liked what I saw and was hooked. Strangest thing I've ever done out of boredom... toss-up between trying to smoke nutmeg and shaving my leg hair.
Where were you born? Describe your father and grandmother? Do you like oranges? Did you play the recorder in primary school?
Mainstream doctors, in my opinion, know absolutely nothing. Someone (I think it was Voltaire) said "A doctor is a man who prescribes pills of which he knows little, to patients of which he knows less, to cure diseases of which he knows nothing at all". All they use is guesswork and drugs that mask the surface symptoms without dealing with the underlying problems. The NHS in principle is a great thing - free healthcare for everyone, who wouldn't want that? But it's costing the taxpayer too much, hospitals are overcrowded and there's absolutely no room in the minds of tight-arsed beaurocrats for alternative therapies that would actually save them money (for example, kinesiology used as a diagnostic tool to make sure the patient gets the right drugs, isn't allergic to any of them, hypnotherapy to help stop smoking instead of costly lung-cancer treatments etc. Also having the money-saving aspect of fewer lawsuits). I'd say 80% of doctors only acknowledge the physical body and it's symptoms, they pay next to no attention to the mind and the emotions, when really we're one interconnected whole - the mind can affect the body and vice versa. The only doctors that DO pay any attention tend to be psychologists and they treat the mind like another disease-ridden organ, classifying emotions into categories when really everyone has their own unique situation and what works for one person won't work for the next.
Where was I born? Lincoln, England. Not a lot of people have heard of it cause it's not a big city My father? Old-time biker/Hell's Angel turned optometrist. My grandmother - a retired nurse and quite sprightly for 90. Yep, LOVE oranges, orange juice, orange flavoured ice cream, you get the picture. And yeah I played the recorder in primary school, who didn't?
Most proud of? Finally working up the courage to ask out my significant other (we knew each other for 4 years as friends before we realised we loved each other). Least proud of.. of the several things I've done which I'm not proud of, I think attempting to top myself has to be the number one.
