1984 is the kind of book that scares you out of your mind, but it is dire to read it. It broadens one's horizons and allows one to understand what the furture could hold if the fight for freedom of speech, religion, etc. is not upheld. Everyone must understand that Big Brother is not fiction, but very possibly our future. Anyone that considers themself a hippie must arm themself against the ignorance of others with knowledge. 1984, and Orwell's philosophies in general, are an excellent starting point.

I read 1984 a couple of weeks ago, and it was a damn good book. I recommend it to everyone. It's quite scary, and you can draw some comparisons to life today, and george orwell's 1984.

Is it legal to put it all on the web? Or have they got the publishers permission?

I've read the book before but I wouldnt want to be sittin in front of a computer for ages reading it all. Id just prefer to get the book. Its probably bad for your eyes reading all of it on the computer aswell.
