Well, I took a vacation to California to see my cousin compete in the Olympic Trials (he made the Olympics for the 100m breast stroke, his name is Mark Gangloff) Anyways, while driving along the highway, we passed by a factory with a TON of black smoke coming out of the smoke stacks. It was disgusting I mean, I've seen factories, but I never really thought about how much they pollute the air until I saw this. What I thought made the pic I took so "artistic" was the US Flags in front of all the smoke stacks. It stood out to me and said "this IS the United States of America, this is how we live, and what we do." Unfortunatly when I finally was able to take the picture a few days later, there wasn't nearly as much smoke coming out, so it's not as "powerful" but I like it anyways. Sorry about the size, I couldn't really edit it
it has a very powerful image. just how much we are hurting the environment and mainly because a lot of the environmental laws have been revoked. its interesting though how it almost does represent america considering that we send a lot of the worlds pollution into the air. oh yeah...cool picture
This is the first thing I thought: "wow it really is america. that's pretty ummm ... well it certainly puts things into better focus for me. This country should but technology toward alternative sources after they de-throne the oil industry."
Wait a minute is that the same refinery?I don't remember seeing two American flags?Well I haven't passed through there in awhile, but I'm pretty sure thats the one. If thats a spires on the right... it's in carson.
