How do they get Teflon to stick to a skillet when nothing sticks to Teflon? Does this bother anyone else? I mean Teflon obviously cant be non-stick because it has to stay on the bottom of the pan somehow...
its not dried when it's sprayed onto the pan.. once it dries though.. it's bonded to the pan.. but doesn't stick to other things.. duh.. like glue
Great invention; metal utensils scratch the surface (releasing small amounts of toxic gasses) and plastic utensils melt on contact Hotwater
the teflon thing has never really entered into my mind, but one that drives me crazy is: The verb "to tat" means to knit, to make lace... basically to construct something. So why do we say something is in "tatters" when it has become unwoven or is in some state of disarray? Tatters should technically mean the exact opposite of what it now means! granted... i am a little word-obsessed... but the whole 'tat/tatters' thing drives me crazy.
I want to know the same thing, but about super glue. Why doesnt it stick to the inside of the tube, but I always seem to glue the cap on, then end up getting the glue all over my fingers.
teflon kills birds it's not allowed in my house in any way shape or form. i'd rather go hungry than eat food that's been prepared on teflon. blech!! ps, long live cast iron!!
