butterflies

what a wonderful feeling. i love butterflies. theyre all around me. who else loves butterflies?

 

i looove em...theyre soo beautiful and free..my sister hates them

but she's a bitchwhore so she doesnt count

Yup, butterflies are great. I love them ... so beautiful and fragile ...

But can someone explain why they're called butter-flies in English?

Butterflies are so kool! I don't get why people don't like them :S I love moths too In a way they're even more beautiful because their patterns are much more intricate.

Has anyone seen "The Craft"? I love the bit when they're sitting under the tree and then hundreds and hudreds of butterflies come down and surround them

 

Apparently in archaic English they were called flutter-bys (because they flutter by...) but over time that gradually got changed into butterfly as the language developed

 

I always liked them, not particularly, but they were okay. But then this year a thing kind of hit me when I was on a hike in the mountains and I saw a little "cluster" of yellow/black ones on the groundThey were so beautfiul, and now they have a meaning to me. I don't like them cause they're pretty, I like them because to me they represent freedom, freedom to fly wherever you want without having to worry about what people think or what other people want for you, just complete freedom.
