I have seen several posts on this forum relating to people seeing the paths that are commonly laid out for people in modern civilization, and are upset and unwilling to participate in them, but do not see any other options. I used to be in the same situation, full of ideas (incorrect ones) about what was wrong with the world but unsure of how to fix it and how to live my own life. I have been travelling around for over a year now, hitching, walking, and trainhopping. During my travels, I have seen so many different lifestyles and have been able to take so many valuable lessons from looking at all of them. I am now certain of exactly what is the problem and exactly what needs to be done, and know now that it is only a matter of time before all of this madness, sickness, and murder is wiped away. I am still travelling, currently squatting at a university in Florida, posing as college students so we can eat up all of the free food they are handing out for orientation. We will soon be hitching to southern Florida hoping to find a warm, clean, unpopulated beach to stay on for the winter - and am keeping an ongoing log of my travels. I feel like many of the people here are aware of what is happening in the world today, and I would like to share my experience with you, and some of the ideas and skills that have come out of them, so that they can use these ideas and skills to help others around them and free themselves from the trappings of jobs, schools, and other forms of imprisonment that are so common amongst people today.

Here is my story, I hope you enjoy it:

hi, Djangalaang, sounds like you're on quite an adventure...i did the same in the late '70s. i can't imagine what it's like trying to survive the craziness out there nowdays, so be cool but be careful, too.

ive been on and off the streets for many years and the only reasons to be on the streets is because of laziness or mental illness. i just lost my job due to downsizing and have since started my own buisness.ill never work for anyone but myself ever again. all you need are basic skills in a trade. i can take my plumbing skills anywhere and make enough money to survive. i cater to those who cannot afford a 70.00 an hour plumber. ill barter and trade my services for what i need. most of the smart hippies have done this instead of mooching off others which makes us all look bad. what im saying is school is a joke and a great way to put yourself in dept for the rest of your life and become a puppet to society. i think if we want any respect and be taken seriously than we need to look less like bums.

I'm homeless as you are but haven't traveled THAT much out of my home area. I freighthopped a couple miles (40) but decided to come home and see a buddy before he went off to college. I'm wondering though how you manage to hitchhike? Is it that easy to go wherever nowadays? I assumed the hitchhiking was dead, and with it being illegal that even complicates things more. Have you ever run into the law or anything similar? I would love to talk to you or even meet you, I'm kinda down in the department of meeting fellow "anarchists" (in the free sense of the word) and it gets lonely sometimes. I guess that's all I have to say, peace haha.

Helping people to survive the coming apocolipse is a noble thing, and is going to take a lot of compassion. People can be violent and downright selfish when up against the wall. Hopefully you won't have to put your hunting skills into action against other people when in desperation they come at you. Do what you think is best, but you should prepare for after death as well as life. Feed your soul and your mind and body.
