Are They Better/Equal/Lower than A Levels? Do All Universities Accept Them? I am Slightly Confused... What They are All About...
Some uni's don't offer them, and I think A Levels are traditionally preferred, but the end result is the same - you get a degree. Once you've got a degree, who cares?
Yeah I Guess... I am Considering to Do an Humanities Access Course at my College...This Year... I Don't Know...there is Just Something About It...That I Don't Trust...Doesn't Feel Right...
It all depends what's for you, what subjects interest you and what you hope to get out of it. There is a bias towards A Levels, but that might be changing, especially with increased emphasis on vocational qualifications. Is it possible to do an A Level on top of the access course?
I don't know much about htem.. but I know a while back my brother did an access course and it got him into university
Well The Access Course is Only One Year Long... So I Could Do an Evening AS Course... I basically Hope for an Uni Entry...Next Year...Since I Done so Badly on my AS's Last Year...And Can Not Re-sit Them Since College No Longer Offers A Levels... I Thought this Would be a Quick Fix...Except...It is Full of People Alot Older than What I am... I want to Do Games Development at uni...
If you're going for a dgree online, just make sure it's one most people are familiar with, not some new cheesey little, just getting started kind of college. Go for something like University of Phoenix or Kaplan University. I'm sure there's plenty others but these two, I hear about a lot of the time in general conversations. Good luck with your education. Peace !
Oh don't worry, it's nothing like that - access courses are a means to getting a proper degree from a university.
To be honest, it's only really worth doing an extra AS if you think learning another subject would be beneficial to you, or if you have a particular uni in mind that requires it - do you know where you want to go? You should check which unis accept access courses before taking it. But at the end of the day, A Levels, AVCE, access courses, none of them really matter as qualifications. You won't find better jobs with A Levels than you will the GCSEs these days I don't think. They're all just a means to get into uni, so in the end it all works out the same really....
Yeah...I Guess All that matters at the End of the Day is an Entry into Uni... However...The Access Course is supposed to be Intense... There are 3 Subjects at Level 3...So I may Chose English Lit...History and Business Studies... Also There are Core Skills to Do...At Level 3...Such as Study Skills...Working With Others... Plus Level 2 IT and Application of Number... Hmm... For Some Uni's I Have Looked at...And for the Course I want to Do...They Accept The Access Certificate... I Guess I will Go Ahead With it...Rather than Starting Again With A Levels... Will Also Do an Evening Course on Visual Basic Programming... I Guess I'm on the Right Track... Hopefully I Will Pass...
