has anyone seen this movie yet? i cant wait till friday when it comes out. ive been waiting for it since i saw the trailer during eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
I made a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait til it gets in theatres around here. It looks wonderful.
It is a wonderful film. Really really enjoyable. A lot of critics jumped on the it's a self conscious movie by a first time priveledged writer, but they can take those reviews and shove it, because (of course this is my opinion) they just don't get it. Not to mention the soundtrack is beautiful, and stirs a lot of dream memories. My favorite song by zero7 is in the movie. Love it
well i saw the movie last night and it was awesome! natalie portmans character was so funny. zach braff is one talented guy.
I know it's been released in Jersy in NYC - but does anyone know when (or if) it's coming to other theaters in the US?
i dont know about this movie. i saw it and i didnt see anything special like everyone is saying. just didnt blow me away like everyone else. i thought it was a corny and cheesy love story and had a very weak delivery on laughs. im sorry but i cant see natlie portman pull off random humor, she just can't. oh and what was with the stupid drug and party scenes? what's it's significance? another thing is just it's hard to believe for someone to fall in love with a compulsive liar within 4 days. but i guess that's the romantic part of the film. whatever... all i can say is that this movie tried.
Natalie Portman is amazing so I'm definately going to see it when it comes out in the UK. I've heard comparisons between Garden State and Lost in Translation. I loved Lost in Translation. Anyone who's seen them both care to comment?
There were a few significant 'thingies' that the drug scene spawned for me (besides that my favorite song was playing over it) There is the pharmaceutical doctor prescribed drugs versus party unity drugs --- what the fuck is the difference is for you to decide. I saw the scene as a turning point in cognitive thinking/patterns, whatever you know what I mean --- where he started to get free and come up for some air. I remember a passing thought that popped into my head while watching this scene was something like --- you can talk about shit endlessly or you can act it out and experience it. for me that scene was 'doing it' and that is what it's all about. and of course, there's as many ways to view the scene as there are opinions and what not, but that was just my take. for instance, i wouldn't count it as an unnecessary scene as say the orgy scene in matrix reloaded. luv.
