hempfest sucked last year there were cops frisking people and shit, it was stupid. it's not like it used to be.
Hey 2cesarewild, how bad was it really? Last year was supposed to be my first year butsomething came up and I couldn't make it. Were lots of peple getting arrested, or were they just taking buds away? Sounds much more shitty than I hoped. I'd like to experience something like that atleast once, but I'd rather not spend the night in a cell.
I saw some arrests going down and the police presence was a lot more than usual. There were undercovers going up to people who were smoking and patting them down and arresting. But, we smoked a gigantor blunt of some haze strain near the stage, thing was fuckin huge. Then we smoked another one in some like government place lol, dam I miss smoking.
I heard from someone that i kow that the cops tended to hassle people using pipes moreso than those smoking on joints and L's. I'm not sure if there is any truth to this, but if anyone else here decides to go you might wanna abstain from pieces for the day. Could save your ass, who knows.
if i do go, i'll probably just smoke somewhere else thats not so crowded....i mean, theres plenty of places to smoke....and then i'll wander down to Boston Common to see whats going on....i rarely carry a pipe outside anyways...
I'll be there. The advice to leave your glass at home is smart, because in massachusetts possesion is only a misdemeanor, but paraphenalia is a felony punishable with jail time and a $500+ fine. My plan is to preroll about 10 blunts, and just get fucking baked.
would a blunt or joint count as paraphernalia being as it is defined as the necessary equipment for a given activity? i mean of course you can ditch them easier and stuff, but i wonder if a cop would count it as that... idk depends on the local law too
I know, for certain, that joints/blunts zig-zags/blunt wraps lighters/visine do not count as paraphenalia. A pipe does, only if it has marijuana resin in it (the legal term is "dirty paraphenalia"). At least, i know that's the case in mass, where boston is, so for this discussion, i can say with total certainty that they do not count.
Well it turned out pretty good. Some of the bands sucked hard ("Peeing with your dad?" - those who went will know what I'm talking about) and something like 70 people got arrested, but overall it was alright. It's funny to see how many different types of people smoke pot.
Last year was my first time and the music blew. Rodney Roadsteamer or whatever his name was was kind of entertaining, but more dumb than anything... wtf, I doubt many people who go there want to listen to metal shit. Not that metal is bad, but its not really the first kind of music I think of when it comes to smoking and mellowing out... I blame WBCN for booking the dumb bands. 70 people?! What the fuck? (according to this blog 53 got arrested...) What a bunch of asswipes. Not even on one day when just about everyone is smoking can the cops actually do their job and keep the peace. Whatever, fuck this prison state. I spent the day in the woods far from the po mellowing out (well, it wasn't so mellow but great none-the-less) on some goomie tea. Just remember kids, there are countries in the world (and not just the netherlands) where society allows you to smoke on the street and be peaceful. Maybe someday we'll have freedom...

We have same thing in San Fran and it was fine everyone smokes up no one bothers anyone. No cops bust persons for pot why would they since its a hempfest.Thats like a trap if they did then.
Maybe we should start some kind of petition to masscan to get some local blues/rock/psych/jam bands up there... I mean, what the hell, reverend glasseye?
