I'm VERY excited, and I wanted to share with everyone the progress I have made in getting things ready for my little girl to come into the world. I'm only 6 monthes plus 2 weeks, and counting, but you can never be ready to early. I've almost gotten everything I absolutely need. I bleached the walls and cleaned the carpets. I'm rather proud of myself. I am going to put a rocking chair in that empty space, BTW.
Ahhh, that's adorable. I just had another grand baby, born the day before my own birthday. Mom was really excited about her decorating and prepping too. God bless you both !

Great! I have to say though, from personal experience, all the preparing I did, the little funny things, weren't even utilized. The crib was abandoned immediately because co-sleeping was easier when I was breastfeeding. It also feels more natural. So her crib just collected random things. haha. The rocking chair ROCKS. It helps when you're breastfeeding to have a comfy chair to sit in for the HOURS you will be sitting with a baby on your boob! If you need any more info on the BARE essentials of raising a baby, give me a PM. I might even have some baby clothes or something to pass on!
Congratulations and good luck. Let the room air out via windows since you bleached the walls. I bleached mine and I let them air out a little. I'm sharing my room with Alexis. She has her baby things, I'll just feel safer. Looks great so far!
AWSOME!! it felt so good to make skylies nursery...again hardly used bc we wound up co sleeping, BUT we did nurse, hang out, and play in there alot~~it felt nice she had her very own little space. i am expecting any day now, and its kinda strange bc we dont have another room...but i washed all the little clothes and are keeping them in one of my husbands drawers that he cleaned out. and i have been cleaning and prepping the house~nesting if you will. good luck to you, your getting closer by the day...
She will definately be sleeping with me for a while, just because I won't want to be to far away from her. But where the crib is, my bed is on the other side of the wall. I'll be pumping breastmilk, because I fear that I'll get sick and won't be able to breast feed, so I'm going to feed her via bottle (maybe boob every now and again) so I won't have any horrible fears about her rejecting a bottle if I got sick. I'll be a single mom, so no hubby. She'll have lots of family and people who love her, and she'll have a father figure. Just no one that I am currently romantically involved with. PROUD SINGLE MOMMY! And the window was open and I had a fan in the door while I was bleaching the walls. I'm allergic to clorox, so I had to do it anyway. Heh. Thanks for all your replies! I enjoy them very much!
Hon, DONT use a bottle in the first 6 weeks (at least!) of her life! It could lead to tons of breastfeeding problems!
