I got my ears pierced 6 weeks ago, and Friday I put hoops in for the first time after taking out my piercing studs. I guess my ears are just adjusting, but I still have a little bit of fluid that comes from my ears when I put the hoops in and they are still a little soar and have bled just a little. I have been cleaning them everyday, and twice each day, I am not quite sure what is wrong...epsecially since I haven't had this done before. My ears aren't red and don't look like they are really infected and the earings are sterling silver. Any pointers as to what I should do? Ben.
hmmm, i think thats probly normal, but just dont stop putting the ear rings in coz i did that coz mine kept bleeding and then they closed up. i had em re-done yesterday but i cant remember how long ur sposed to keep em in for, thanks 4 telling me 6 weeks! are u sposed to twiddle em round? i wouldnt worry bout urs tho, maybe just go back to gold studs for a bit, u might have had a reaction the metal on the hoops. x
Try cleaning them with dial anti-bacterial soap. The liquid kind. I was having the same type of trouble when I had my navel done. I switched soaps and in just a few days all the tenderness and puffiness went away.
Was it yer earlobes and not the cartilidge? Well I guess it doesn't matter either way. That's prolly normal, when they pierced it did they give you a bottle of solution to clean it with? If so keep using that, it's normal (in my experience... six, but four closed up lol) . Six weeks is about the time you can change them, so they'll prolly be funky fer a couple days or so, but don't worry, just keep cleanin em.
that doesnt sound normal to me. I have 3 holes in each ear and everytime ive gotten em done, thats never happened.
Thanks for your help, guys. I am keeping the same hoops in for a few days and cleaning my ears as well as my hoops with alcohol twice a day now, since I ran out of that ear cleanser they gave me when they were pierced. I think things are getting on the right track now. Thanks again, Ben.
just a thought, but salt water may be nicer on the ears than alcohol. specially if ur trying to do-tox like me : ) only a suggestion tho. x
