What's all this Retro vs. Metro

I've been seeing these "Retro vs. Metro" ads around lately, that obviously enough are portraying right-wing icons versus left-wing ones. But what exactly is this for? Some book or movie coming out?

 

there's the whole metro-sexual thing. they're basically men in touch with their girlie side. concerned with fashion and being able to cry or carry a purse. the retro-sexual is your old-school macho type.

 

Yeah, I understood that. I'm just wondering what this is advertising for exactly.

And I scoff at girly men.

 

You may see the ads occasionally on a website banner, and I've also seen it in a magazine ad.

Looks a bit dumb, IMO, but as I said I've no idea what the whole thing's for. They just end saying The Great Divide... Coming in 3 Days (bum bum BUM!) ... and I'm too lazy to "learn more by signing up for their newsletter."
