I've been researching and I guess there is a such thing as Gay ocd where a guy gets insanely paranoid that he is gay but he actually isn't gay at all but he just can't shake the thought of it. So whenever he does something he thinks he looks gay or he acted gay because he is in such a fear that he is really gay. But in the end these people couldn't be more straight.

This must be what I have because I do that all the time, check myself to see if I acted gay. Of course this is a rediculous fear because there is nothing wrong with being gay but its just an obsession that I can't shake. I really don't think I'm gay but I really do think I have this gay ocd.

Any obsession can be let go but it takes a lot of therapy.

Want a technique that can facilitate a release of this?

Just go ahead & admit it. You're gay.

Its funny you should say that because if I was to get therapy right now the person would have me go through a stage where I associate myself as gay just to let go of any fear that has to do with being gay. Once you see theres nothing to fear with the label of being gay and gay things then you can overcome the obsession.

Well I think this "condition" exists both in people who are straight and just paranoid and gay and in denial...it seems to happen a lot in both and seems to have more to do with general personal insecurities than what their sexuality actually is.

And then you can admit to being gay.

What don't you understand? For some people yes they are really gay but this is OCD, thats where you are obsessed with a rediculous thought pattern which you need to erase from your mind and think clearly.

If you have got gay OCD, once it doesn't bother you when people think you are gay, will be a sign that you are recovering

Oh,I understand perfectly clear. I just don't buy the whole "OMG am I talking/acting/looking/smelling gay?" as being considered OCD. It just sounds like a fear of being something you don't want to be. Actually I don't even give two shits if you're gay or not. I just thought this to be a peculiar thread topic.

Best of luck to you though!

Its not that hard to understand what ocd is and a recurring irrational thought pattern would classify as ocd. Just like an irrational urge to wash your hands for no apparent reason is also ocd. It comes in many strange and unusual forms. Most people do find this subject a little odd but thats exactly what it is, odd thinking patterns for some people.

It may not be hard to understand, however people may not agree with you with this, and people have the right to disagree with any thread topics and comment on them.

more importantly, people shouldn't just diecide that they have an illlness or a condition just because they have read about it.
with mental health concerns as much as physical its up to the doctor to make a diagnosis and diecide wether a person has something or not.
