Nihilism is a philosphical position which argues that the world, and especially human existence, is without objective meaning, purpose, comprehensible truth, or essential value.
Nihilists generally assert some or all of the following: there is no reasonable proof of the existence of a higher ruler or creator, a "true morality" is unknown, and secular ethics are impossible; therefore, life has no truth, and no action is known to be preferable to any other

do you think of yourself as a nihilist a neo nihilist of a person with too much black in your wardrobe .....what do you think of nihilists ....have you seen the big lebowski:)

Nihilism in theory is a good idea, however it doesn't work when put into practice. Just seems to relate to anarchy.

Because in the end Nihilism is the road to destruction. If you don't believe in anything then there is no sense of morality and it doesn't take into account feelings, personalities, etc.
As I said before... it's a great idea in theory, but once put into practice it's just not kosher :p

    I ain't much of a philosopher though....

Is this because I accused you of being a nihilist after the discussions we had up our tower at Beautiful Days?:D

Anyway by that definition I am a nihilist. I don't believe secular ethics are "impossible", just rather arbitrary.

I have in the past fence jumped and it is fun in fact for events that were charity based i used to jump and then donate my ticket price to the charity I so enjoyed fence jumping.

but if I sign in for a watch tower I will try to catch people like me as thats part of the fun of fence jumping having someone trying to stop you

We were lying behind a tower for what felt like ages during a brief thundery storm. Then got spotted, ran like monkeys... stopped for a rest and a beer and then got spotted again... chased by a jeep... ran into the sunflowers. Hid for ages and then tadaaaaa wonderfulness of beautiful days!

Never had such a great game of hit :D
Next year, I will probably buy a ticket... but to be fair, if it wasn't for Beautiful Days, I probably wouldn't get any exercise. :p

Where did you jump? The jumpers we saw were frankly right numpties for going in where we were in family camping because they then had to get past the security going into the festival proper...

Ah happy days - philosophy, hot chocolate and mild vertigo[IMG]

Back to nihilism... I would regard myself complimented if someone said I was a nihilist. It's the only reasonable position to take. Applying it in practice doesn't mean that you have to be a heartless bastard with no ethics - it just means being aware that truth is relative. This should in fact make you far more sensitive to other ideas and cultural values than just your own.

    drive down on sharmon palms

i was hittin the shots and i moved to a cup
    release me from moral assumption
