LOL Nirvana is NOT metal even if he killed himself. lol.. Top 5 in my opinion are soulfly sepultura slayer Ramstein White Zombie
Sabbath is more metal than any of the metalcore faggots of today. Don't let their noise fool you, those dillenger escape plans and such aren't metal. they're noise. talentless noise.
Top 5 bands Metallica Megadeth Pantera Slayer Iced Earth Others Black Sabbath Iron Maiden Kreator I'm forgetting a lot of people here, but yeah..
The Dillinger Escape Plan may not be straight-up metal and they are noise. But it's a fucking good and talented noise. When I first hear them I thought abit of that's just a noise and shit, but when you actually listen, fucking good :H
I can partially agree, bands like DEP are good at being powerful, they can create a bombardment of sound that to many would be passed off as noise, but to some, an intricate arrangement of music. I just like to talk like an ass to get people stirred up, while saying exactly how I feel at any given time. muhaha.
Didn't mean to offend you, but was it really worth it to post that? Yay for imposed censorship on the free speech forums.
okay, go home. Slipknot - Death Metal System of a Down - Commercial Metal Alice In Chains - Grunge Disturbed - Nu-Metal Coal Chamber - Nu-Metal Mudvayne - Death/Nu Metal Mushroomhead - of course these are fucking metal! Soulfly - and again - what the fuck? next, sepultura will be a pop band! Korn - Nu-Metal Rob Zombie - Industrial Metal tool - SHITE ratm - Rap Rock marilyn manson - Rock with metal influences Skid Row - Grunge>Metal a lot of people in this topic have got to understand that METAL is not the be all and end all of heavy music. there are many different sub genres of metal, and it's changed completely since original metal artists back in the days when the genre began. I can't believe you think Soulfly are something other than metal - what do you class them as? They may use tribal instruments and african drums but that jus makes them more diverse. As for "I've been listening to metal since before you were in diapers", that just about sums up the point i made about metal changing over the decades, hence that's probably why you don't refer to today's Metal artists as true metal. Also, judging by your list of bands I see you're into black metal. Darkthrone are great (the only thing that lets them down in my opinion is the quality of the recordings), but maybe bands like this are what you class as metal, and so of course all these other bands would come nowhere near as heavy as the bands you've listed. And to Duck (and Panzer alike) - Slipknot "SO" are Metal as a matter of fact. One album to check out that you probably haven't even heard of - "Disasterpiece". The VERY beginning of slipknot (fuck their self-titled debut album, THIS is their true debut).
system of a down tool metallica pantera lamb of god in flames, deftones, megadeth, and hatebreed, and black sabbath would be up there if it was like top 10
Did you say that skid row is grunge?! Since when is I Remember You or Youth Gone Wild a grunge song, almighty ruler of the genre classification system? haha. Also, Panzer, please, define what it is that makes metal.
"almighty ruler of the genre classification system"?? you dirty bastard. i meant metal with minor influences taken from grunge. but, i'd only heard 1 song before now - "youth gone wild". so i accept it was wrong of me to judge a band on one song, but i've just downloaded a load of songs and they sound a lot more rock than anything.
