incredible string band

any fans on here and whats your favourite song/album at the moment mine is wee tam & the big huge

 

I like Liquid acrobat as regards the air most.

 

havnt listened to that in awhile must dig it out when i get home from work

 

I still haven't listened to many other albums, but lord I love 'The Incredible String Band' and 5000 Spirits. Their debut album (ISB) always brightens my day.

 

I've just heard them for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised. Very nice indeed. Right now I'm listening to 5000 spirits.

 

I only recently heard their music but I'm a fan already. I like Maya, You Get Brighter, First Girl I Loved, Worlds They Rise and Fall, The Circle Is Unbroken and one that goes "come a little closer to my breast, I'll tell you that you're the one I really love best", does anyone know what it's called? I haven't heard any albums yet, but I might have to get one soon.

 

People thought I was crazy when I talked about ISB. I've actually turned a couple people on to them. My favorite song of theirs has to be "First Girl I Loved," and is most likely my all time favorite song.

 

Mine is probably 'Little cloud'.
The Donovan-ish mellow, childlike happiness really speaks to me.

My favorite band! They make my nervous system tingle. Wish I had more of their albums. Ducks on a pond, ducks on a pond Had Wee Tam for awhile. Now whatever happened to that...

Still get to see Robin at some of his solo gigs, last time he was accompanied by Clive Palmer among others and did some of the old ISB songs including Job's Tears.

 

Anybody know where i can get some lo-fi streams or free mp3s of ISB ? I got a serious jones for em.

 

5000 spirits -the greatest album..Wee tam..yeah

 

never really had the time to listen to them carefully , though i planed to do so for a long time . they have a quite unique sound ( and that's probably the reason for the band's name ) , but only one song struck me as extraordinary , and that's "lover man" . it has an awesome start and it continues in the same way , the guitar works great with the voices .
other songs i like are "air" , "swift as the wind" and "my name is death"

 

Oh hell, i just started a thread on this without looking for another very thoroughly.. ahh.. oh well, but that aside. I've been basically listening to nothing else for 6 months now, have heard every album, the 5000 spirits or the layers of the onion is simply phenomenal! For some reason i like be glad for the song has no ending, despite it seemingly being not a particularly popular album =/ ISB RULES!
