I'm not at that stage in my life yet. Eventually I will. My uncle buys them like kids by Hershey bars. HUD homes too. Not sure if they have those where you are but they're worse than forclosed homes. The last HUD home he bought had the stove, bathtub, toilet, tile, carpet and cabinets all taken out by the original owner. He pays 5-12k for the house. Puts 10-15k into the homes and rents the for 3 years before selling them. Hell of a plan. The man got a job last week because he was bored. Eventually I will follow in his steps. As will my younger brother and my cousin. It's a great way to have a nice place to live with a minimal payment and also a great way to make a living if you don't mind some manual labor.
In Feng Shui we believe we take on the peoples energy or Chi from whomever lived in a dwelling before us. So living in any place that a person lost since they could not afford it anymore is severe bad luck. I believe that to be true. Every place I rented that the people before me had problems with sucked and I moved from. My present home is great and a keeper. It has been lived in for over 200 years and most of the former people were famous too. Isadora Duncan and many famous Artists. The most famous person was Joseph Campbell who wrote The Power Of Myth here at my studio.
yep. she's just got her longshoreman's card, but she went to book camp. after boot camp she beings her heavy equipment training (she wants to be a sea bee). she'll be learning all her construction/engineering crap. which is great, she excels at things that require that sort of thinking and physical prowess.
i love joseph campbell. he's great. i've lived in many many places. i've never really had any problems in any of them, though there's usually a little bit of wierdness that i strike up to my stress.
While the FengShui concept is beautiful in theory I believe it to have some general flaws. The flow of energy that was corrupted (either intentioanlly or unintentionally) can be improved by the new dwelling holder. It is not taking advantage of misfortune, but rather improving something of beauty that has been blemished by someone who was unable to maintain balance. With proper adjustments, chi can be re-aligned and flow healthfully. This is proven every time a Democrat is put into the White House to fix the mess made by the incompetent republican before him.
I have wondered a lot about buying foreclosed homes. It's something I'd like to look into more in the semi near future.
We bought one that had been a student rental...so the owners didn't even live here. What are the beliefs for that situation?
You have some good mojo there. JC was one of my favorite ppl of the last century: http://www.jcf.org/index2.php His UCLA lectures were top notch. As for Isadora Duncan: "She died as dramatically as she had lived, when her long trailing scarf was entangled in the spokes of a wheel of a new Bugatti sports car. In an instant, she was strangled, nearly decapitated by the tightening of the scarf wrapped around her neck."
I used to repo houses for the banks and mortgage companies to turn into hud homes. All the ones I repossesed were already abandoned, if the people were still living there I would tell them I had the wrong place and walk away. I only evicted 1 person, and felt very bad about it. I was suposed to go into the house with a crew and put all of their possesions on the lawn for them, then after a short period of time I was supposed to through away all of the things they didn't come get. Luckily they were good about it. They even helped me throw their stuff out, made it all the more morally challenging. Other than that it was a fun job, getting paid to break into houses. The cops would show up and surround the houses and I would laugh at them. I had to clean the houses out and repair any damage done by the previous owners, like fixing holes in the walls, burst pipes ect. I got alot of nice things that people would abandon with the houses. Stereos, funiture, T.V., little odds and ends. One house that I went into, someone left a cat behind. The neighbors said that the previous tenants had a million of them, and didn't like this one 'cause it only had three legs. I ended up taking it home with me. Named it Sankyaku. It was a good cat, walked a bit funny, but you would to if you were minus a leg. Most of my pets always seem to come from the street. I wonder why I always end up with them. Seems like everytime a dog got loose in my old neighborhood, they would always find their way to my house. All the rich snobs that hated me so much were always happy when I would bring their dogs back to them. Then the next day they would put their noses back into the air for me. I am so glad I moved. Now I don't have to talk to anyone unless I want to. Conversations are so much better when you actually want to talk to people. Some people just don't know when to shut up...........
