Download a copy of "CloneDVD". It's a program, that copies the whole disk to a folder on your hard drive, THEN, it writes it all back to a blank DVD disk. (NOTE: some copy protection can't be broken by users like us.) This program works well for me most of the time.

I have a DVD burner (Nero) to record DVD to DVD and it burns 86% then errors out. I'm recording non copy-protected videos. any ideas of what could be happening?

DVDs are protected to prevent copying in the same way as can be done for videos. There is no simple way to copy them. There is a good reason for this, while I believe it may be legal to make a backup copy of your movies (though I maybe wrong on that), the movie companies don't believe thats why you want to do it. To make you legal backup the PC is probably your best bet.

The manufacturers are obliged by law to prevent standalone players from copying copyright dvd
