-The real Mount Sinai was found in Saudia Arabia. The Bible said that God dwelled on the top of this mountain and the heat that was created was like a furnace. The mountain that discovered is not volcanic but the entire top has been burned black. And this is only a fraction of what has been found. But I guess it is just another one of those Bible coincidences. Being that this section is devoted to Christianity, I think his post has everything to do with this forum. Perhaps in the end BlackHoodedCrow, you are the one that is not open? I couldn't resist this: So those guys playing on the Titanic as it sank....were they Goth?
Man I just peed myself there. Oh woe oh woe I'm such a lost soul, how could I not have seen the light?
Most of those who tend to use that phrase, are the ones who are completely closed off to anything that has to do with Christ. Pot calls kettle black?
please don't say that it's a nightmare for an atheist, that's implying that you are right and we are wrong. i do accept that fact that maybe you have faith in the right thing, but i also believe what i do, and i don't try to imply that my way is the only way
"The mountain peak scorched by Supernatural heat" IMO: that first site looked rather unprofessional, and the picture of the scorched mountain top looked more like a simple shadow. as one site states in interview: BATTISTA: I need to play the devil's advocate because it does seem somewhat incredible that these two Americans, who are basically just adventurers with a lot of money, would manage to find this incredibly mysterious and historical Biblical site over any other Biblical archaeological team. I mean, how did they prove that this was the real Mount Sinai? BLUM: You raise an important point and I should emphasize that these men are just adventurers; they are not scholars. sort of reminds me of the old, seeing the virgin mary in my spaghettios type of thing. take care guys~
Exactly what I was thinking. It's not that professional at all. Far more likely just another instance of people taking advantage of the faithful's will to believe.
youre really not being fair, that's her opinion and something that makes her happy, she's not saying that it applies to everything and everyone, what do you gain by being hostile to others?
Just to chime in here... if you are an atheist and if your beliefs are correct, then your way IS the only way. Same thing for Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (those three at the least, there are probably more). If Christianity is correct, then all other religions that have a method for getting to heaven are wrong. Any religion (or non-religion) that states a metaphysical principle as fact when that principle is not found within Christianity is wrong. The same applies with Islam and Judaism. A BAD Muslim is one who does NOT believe that Allah is the only God and who believes that Christians who worship Christ will also go to heaven. Muslims believe that they have the way, the truth, and the life. So do Jews. So do Christians. By asking Christians to not imply that they believe that they have the only way, you are asking them to neglect a key aspect of their faith in order that you might not be offended. Here's the rub: that you would ask someone to refrain from stating what they believe shows remarkable intolerance on your part, not theirs. They believe that they have the light and they are trying to bring it to you. You can reject it if you want to. Also, is there anything wrong with implying or stating that my way is the only way? What if I am right? If I have the only way, wouldn't it be immoral for me to NOT state it and try and let you know? What is the big deal about people stating that they are right as if it were fact?
There's a difference between stating your own beliefs as something that's relative to yourself, and stating them as if they were the unquestionable, universal truths that non-believers shouldn't have the gall to pick apart. I don't think it hurts at all to acknowledge that one's religious views aren't necessarily for everyone, or that ultimately these sorts of views are based on faith (that, after all, is what constitutes a religion), and therefore that's a very relative thing. It's more diplomatic, at the least. At any rate, dogmatic preachiness about the absolute truth of one's faith gets tiresome fast, and tends not to endear their image to non-believers.
I couldn't have said it better myself Alsharad. Good work. I am not being fair? I am told daily that I am not open minded, that I need to view things from a different perspective. Guess what, I viewed everything differently before I gave my life to Jesus. For someone to tell me I am closed minded because I believe in something they don't is absurd. In that case, I would call you close minded. Who is the more expirienced here? The one that has always been against God, or the one that was against God, saw the light and now fights for Him? I have been on both sides. I know both sides arguments. I made my decision, you made yours, so why call me close minded when you are doing the same damn thing? Oh, and where did you see hostility? Had she been in my face saying what she said, I would have replied with what I said with a smile. Yeah, I can see how smiling is hostile to others. Oh wait, I forgot, everyone else is allowed to voice their opinion in what makes them happy, but we Christians are being closed minded and hostile when we do it.
-If you want to see actual pictures get the DVD The Real Mount Sinai. You will see that the mountain is not a shadow but chard granite as the guys crack open the stones. In the DVD the two guys through the Bible find everything it was talking about. Honestly you will be amazed. These guys simply followed the Bible. When the Bible said they stopped at a spring these guys actually looked for a spring. They also went off research of a former seekers who got caught an their pictures got taken away. How they setup to find everything was form something almost like a grocery list. Step by step they found everything. -The Red Sea Crossing -Exodus Route -Bitter Springs of Marah -Palms & Springs of Elim -Golden Calf Altar -Boundary Markers -Altar of Moses -Twelve Pillars -Cave of Elijah -Mountain Touched by God Now if the archaeologist did this they would have come up with the same conclusion but they just went to the traditional site the Sinia pennisula and said there was no evidence. But archaelogist missed a key verse. The Bible says that the Jews went ouf of Egypt to Saudia Arabia. Now Saudia Arabia is not in the Sinia Pennisula so you can see how archaeologist missed it.
Don't matter. Still need to have legit professionals look at it and verify before it's something to get excited about and wave it about as an "atheist nightmare"...
First off, I don't recall seeing loverofthewoods post anything prior to her recent post on this thread. So with that in mind, I clearly was not speaking to that person. Secondly, I did not attack the thread. I did not bring up someone being closed minded. Some anti-christian accused campbell of being closed minded. Again, I will point out, that when a Christian tries to spread The Word he is called closed mined. However, it is highly frowned upon when the roles are reversed, and a Christian calls a non believer close minded. It's as if it's ok if non believers do it, but when a Christian does it, oh , well they are just ignorant closed minded fools. No, you didn't use my words against me. You simply showed your lack of ability to come up with anything original. Yet again, prooving my point that it's ok for you to correct me or campbell in saying we are closed minded. What you failed to quote was the important part, that pretty much knocks your pointless bable out of the water. This is what I said: Shall I say it again? I made my decision, and because you want to join in, you made your decision, why call me close minded when you are doing the same thing? What did you say you name was? Kettle was it? My name is Pot. I don't see how anything you just said there has anything to do with what everyone else(including myself) has said here. And those last two remarks....who said my path was the only way? Here is a little schooling for you. Those accusers are anti-christians just like you. You would have me better myself according to worldly beliefs. I better myself through scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other Christians. In using your analogy, and putting it where it counts. Several people have come along and told me Christianity, Jesus, God(pretty much insert The Bible here) is wrong. I prayed(investigated) about it, thought about it, prayed more, and studied The Bible. My conclusion, Jesus died for my sins and your sins. Loads of people will reject Him(those are the people telling me I have a tail) and few will recieve Him. Even with loads of evidence(now we are getting back on topic here) people will still reject the truth. You can deny it all you want. In the end, when you read The Bible, study it, and learn it's prophecies, it becomes more clear that it is truth. Funny, a lot of people claim they would believe if theuy could just see proof, yet, when it is laid out in front of them, they deny it. Campbell, as The Bible clearly states, this and so many other things will be refuted and rejected. I realy find it funny though that these non believers find it neccesary to go out of their way, to jump in here, and attempt to bash every bit of info we post. Then again, I just refert to The Bible and see it as scripture come true.
Is it really that hard? To me, it means that: goths see things that way, but that doesn't mean that everyone who sees life that way is goth.. Like.. children like sesamestreet, but not everyone who likes sesamestreet is a child. It's not that hard.. is it?
-That would be a nice to do if the unbias muslims would allow entry to the mountain. Unfortunately, they are so fearful that any Christian or Jew should see this place that they surrounded the entire mountain with a 6 foot fence and guard posts. It is protected by armed Saudi guards. The only way they were able to get close to the mountain is by forging passports and approaching the mountain with night-vision head gear. This is what happens when there is a Christian or Jewish site in a Muslim country. This is the kind of desperation taking place around the world to prevent the truth from coming out.
