what's your favorite string cheese studio album? to me, they are one of few jam bands who have the ability to (at times) transfer the energy of a show to a studio cut....

for me, my favorite its definitley outside inside...i mean come one, it has karl deson jamming out like only he can on a few songs (check out black and white), every song has a different feel, it's energetic, and the lyrics to "joyful sound" are so kynd...it's just like a quote i heard from mountain girl on the "waiting for the snow to fall" dvd..."string cheese preaches an open heart, with a boogie groove that can dance it's ass off"

yea I agree with oustside inside - thats a great album. I also really like around the wheel. I didnt choose carnival because thats a live album and I dont think its comparable with studio albums - not that I'm nescicarily saying its better.

I see the albums as different animals than the shows, and I would also exempt "A String Cheese Incident" (it is NOT a self title: SCI is trademarked as THE String Cheese Incident) because it is also live. the tile is A string cheese "incident...which is what we started calling the shows in the early days. (which is why there is an IncidentaList)
It does, however have the better version of "Wake Up."

I just started to get into SCI and really enjoy the live albums more than the studio
the studio album that I like best is One Step Closer.
the album contains my favorite songs - Sometimes a River, One Step closer, Big Compromise, and 45th of November.
